Anyone seen fuel prices start to drop ywt then? No, thought not. ๐ก
Do have to say though that the Esso garage on Halesfield, normally one of the dearest in Telford have dropped their petrol and diesel yesterday by about 4p and are now on a par with Asda, and lower than the other supermarkets. If they can do it, why cant all of the others I wonder, including the supermarkets. Probably the main reason is pure greed.

Meanwhile the government continues to take 46% of the price of every litre in taxes. That means, of course, that the more the price goes up the more they take.
As an aside though, no one is taking any notice of Greta anymore - when it comes down to car use and keeping warm, the planet loses. That was always going to be the case, only sensible (not anti motorist, but pro better efficient use of fuels and green energy) from government can save the planet.

Was 189.9p someday during the week and now 187.9p for unleaded.

Trip out to the seaside at Barmouth today. Once over the border was good to see all the local village petrol stations (that probably only sell 1/100th that the supermarkets do) were all as cheap or cheaper than the Telford supermarkets, and WAY cheaper than your trip off Shell stations.
If they can do it then why cant the bigger retailers - because they are still happy to rip the motorist off of course. Barstards.

This backs up the "Supermarkets ripping us off" theory, not a single supermarket in this list: Shropshire and Mid Wales Cheapest petrol Texaco Grindley Brook Garage, Chester Road, Whitchurch - 166.9p Griffiths Garage, High Street, Leintwardine - 169.9p Shell Victoria Garage, Newport Road, Whitchurch - 169.9p Texaco Hardings Garage, A490, Guilsfield, Welshpool - 173.9p Essar, Holyhead Road, Nesscliffe Service Station - 177.9p Texaco Ellesmere Mere Motors, Church Street, Ellesmere - 177.9p Essar, The Mount, Shrewsbury - 178.9p Shawbury Service Station, Main Road, Shawbury - 179.9p Esso RSS, Sycamore View, Prees Heath - 179.9p Rix Brook Street Garage, Union Street, Welshpool - 179.9p Esso Whitchurch Bypass Service Station, Wrexham Road, Whitchurch - 179.9p Note there is also a, usually pretty reasonable, Shell garage in that list. And not a station anywhere in the Telford area in that list......๐ก Maybe you just need to learn to live with higher fuel prices in Telford?๐ Telford has been taken over by the supermarkets. I understand even the Shell garages in the Newport/Telford area are run by the same franchisee. A lesson to support your local garage owner - who will also try to make sure you get a bit of petrol, as a loyal or even occasional customer, if there's a shortage.

And not a station anywhere in the Telford area in that list......๐ก Maybe you just need to learn to live with higher fuel prices in Telford?๐ The amount I get through especially in the winter I can easily divert to somewhere bit further away if it's a significant saving. Problem in Telford is it's all Supermarkets (who used to be customer friendly with fuel) or Shell stations. Between a Rock and a hard place .....
