I'm sure that Gary Peters is well aware of our deficiency in this department (as well as others of course). His attempt to sign the Sc***horpe guy indicates this. At the moment we have Moss whose disciplinary record is so abysmal he sits out a much higher % of games that we can afford, Challis who gets worse with every game, and Sedgemore who is clearly no more than Conference standard. Whiehead is wasted in the full back position, but the suspension of Moss left Peters with few options. In the case of Challis his total loss of form is nothing short of alarming. This coupled with his move back to Bristol seems to indicate he's just going through the motions til his contract expires..something we can ill afford.

I think you're spot on. Improving Moss' disciplinary record must be a big priority for GP, as he is one of our best players and we can ill afford losing him for many more games.
It will be interesting to see whether GP sees either Ahston or Lyng as feasible long-term solutions to the left-back position.

Surely anyone going through the motions would not throw themselves into challenges in the manner in which Challis does.

Challis , again for me was shocking, he cost us the first goal and his overall play was appauling, not the same player as last season, Mansfield had done there homework and targeted that left flank .

Agree with TS, Challis is suffering from the 'Riochs' where it all starts off ok, it then goes a bit dodgy and after that you never seem to get any better, but can't fault eithers commitment. He's looked very much out of his depth over the last few games and really needs to sort himself out
