Inept performance today although I think that Peters is the right man to make us battle for the rest of the season : I've been impressed with him so far, just hope he signs his contract soon - we do though need more of a strategy than hoping that Cambride & the carpet fitters will continue to be as bad or worse than us
The workrate of Rodgers & Langmead was the only real positive to take from today and there are early signs that they may form a good partnership.
When you also then list the likes of Lowe, O'Connor, Tolley, Moss, Howie, Whitehead, Aiston (when fit), there is the nucleus of a good team. On the flip side, you have to say that the likes of Sedge, Darby, Grant are not good enough and there are serious question marks about the general form of Tinno, Street, Walton, Challis, Edwards etc.
Will have to reserve judgment on Burns and Ashton as unfair to really judge on today's showing. Ashton looks like he can deliver a good ball although seems a little lightweight (like the rest of our midfield ), and not the quickest. The only impression I formed of Burns was that he has the maneouverability of the Ark Royal
At least we know we are in the s**t this time as opposed to Ratcliffe's year where relegation snuck up on us. Need Peters to work the players hard, get them to pass to each other, battle for every ball although maintaining discipline (Mossy ) and get that vital ingredient that we are missing at the moment, a bit of luck.
Over half the season still to go, next 4 games over Xmas will be a significant factor in whether we are going to get out of this or not.
Come on Town
