Nothing to do with finding a Russian billionaire, chance would be a fine thing More to do with their playing system, where Gudjohnsen or Drogba operate as lone striker with Duff & Robben playing off him on either side. Luke is really struggling up front as a conventional striker at the moment due to the generally crap service he gets, and we don't have any width (even when Aiston plays he can't cross the ball although in fairness he gives us pace, direct running and something for the opposition to worry about). I think it would be worth a try away from home, where Luke & Ryan can track back/bomb forward as appropriate - my line up would be: Howie Moss (once he stops being suspended ) Whitehead Tinno/Walton (although not been impressed with either of them so far this season) New left back as Trev's gone crap Tolley O'Connor Street (probably the best of a bad lot that is the rest of our midfield at the moment) Lowe Rodgers (our hardest working player by miles ) Langmead (seems to have a bit about him to hold ball up and play others in)

We won't see Ben again this season I'd imagine which is a great shame. Sammy would play instead of Street if he fits in with Peters' plans/training regime and manages to control the

have to agree with young_shrew here, smithy's looked promising in the few games he's played, if you stuck all the midfielders together ben would shine
