One of my pals in the RAF was from Swindon, this was late 1960s.
We were stationed in the Cotswolds and I'd go to games with him occasionally, including several in the cup runs they had.
They had a really good team, I think Don Rodgers played for England while they were in division 3.
All a bit sad for their fans.

They should never have changed their name from Paulo Di Canio's Swindon Town.

Remember the days of winger Don Rodgers well. Top player and a sound football club in those days. Some of these businessmen who enter into the world of football without any knowledge of the game really do have a lot to answer for. Once again we say thank goodness for Roland and hope that when he retires that the club is put in the hands of someone like himself who always put the club first. In other words a supporter.

I sincerely hope they don't go bust, I have no real love for Swindon but my son plays with their DS Active group. He'd be devastoted if he couldn't play football every week.

New Swindon Town owner and chairman Clem Morfuni says Robins fans "have got their club back" as his takeover of the League Two club nears completion. The Australian businessman has appointed Ben Garner as head coach and Ben Chorley as director of football. Garner, 41, was boss of Bristol Rovers from December 2019 until November 2020. Morfuni, who had a minority stake in the Wiltshire club, is in the process of acquiring shares from outgoing chairman Lee Power. "I want to thank every supporter who fought for their club and helped me to gain control," Morfuni said. "I will work hard to make this club a club all our fans can be proud of." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57920562
