Definately should get a chance to say goodbye, probably at a pre season friendly start of next season. Even if just a 10/15 min cameo appearance at the start of a game.

That would drive an even bigger wedge between the club and Colin Griffin. Testimonials are only granted after 10 years service. An absolute disgrace that Colin Griffin wasn't granted a testimonial by the club, still annoys me even now. There's a task for Brian, get Colin back to the club.

I don’t think Griff would be interested now.

Point taken, testimonial's the wrong term. As someone's since suggested, a friendly in his name raising funds for appropriate charities would be a fitting send off. Surely nobody could object to that?

A great man. Deserves some sort of match played in his name, in front of a decent crowd.

Well, Unless he's going into Sunday League football then part time somewhere would have a big impact on supporting Shrewsbury from the stands....

Now that's not a nice thing to say about anyone! Though I supose he may know Gavin Cowan.
How about Hairyford?

Altrincham are part time but playing in the Conference, assistant manager Neil Sorvel.
Not too long a commute if Dave lives north of Shrewsbury.

It would make sense - be good for both parties.

My thoughts entirely. Connections there, but Dave do you really want to drop down to this level?

Someone in the Welsh League. TNS, he'd be on telly more than he's ever been in his career. But what about being able to sit in the stands at MWM and watch Shewsbury?

If I had the chance of playing football at a lower level for just a few more seasons (including European games) I would take it if I was still enjoying it enough. Will be plenty of seasons to come watching my boyhood team in the not too distant future for many more years.

So much better than grubbing around with the likes of Telford, Hereford or Wrexscum. Yes, appearing in European games sounds like fun.

In my opinion I have to say that is a great video by Dave Edwards. Good luck to him in whatever he does next.

Good work from Bala there. Hope Dave stays fit and does well for them. Bala play some decent football and are worth a visit. You can sit in some of the old Gay Meadow seats. I think they're next to some from Coventrys old ground so make sure you get the right colour blue👍🙂

They've had another good season, finished 3rd in the Cymru Premier behind Connah's quay nomads and TNS.

Hmm, could be a bit embarrassing though, join League of Wales to get back into Europe but be facing a relegation battle because the likes of TNS, Connahs Quay and Bala are too good for them.....🙂

We never saw the best of him of course and that's because at his pomp he was better than Town and the level we were at. But every time he did play for us he gave it his all. And I gather having had the career he has had he doesn't need to continue playing for financial reasons, that he still wants to continue playing at a half decent level really does speak volumes about his passion for the game...which is very much what we got to see at the Meadow whenever he was on the pitch.
It's not very often that we have a player representing the Town who love the club as much as we do. Wish him all the best. Do think this won't be the last time we see him at Town in some professional capacity.
