A shame that lockdown put paid to some of the big plans I'd made with fellow B&Aers to celebrate the big day yesterday, but I'm sure like me many of you found a way to celebrate in style.
Kicked the day off by raising a nice cup of cocoa to him in tribute (Seed and Bean organic dark 66% chocolate with Cornish sea salt and lime, for those interested). Weather sadly wasn't great, which must have been even more disappointing for Cam than me tbf. But I still made it down to Tooting Bec Common Lake for a brisk walk around the perimeter to celebrate the afternoon, before reverting to type by polishing off a crate of Carling back at Rickerton HQ with the Inspector and Feedo Gnasher over Zoom.
How did you celebrate? Happy to accept admissions and tales via DM, can add them to the thread myself.

Was a privilege to share the special occasion with yourself, will be talked about for years to come!

In the morning - before I met up with a few other B&Aers over Zoom to have skinful of NEIPA - I played Swingball in my back garden with Mortgagehound via FaceTime.
I played my shots as usual and then also played for mortgagehound by swinging my bat for him whenever he issued the agreed command “Max Moseley”. Mortgagehound was the deserved victor, three games to one so fair play and I suspect it’s also what Cam would have wanted.

Interesting that we have 4 keepers. is the pecking order sarkic, illiev, Burgoyne, Gregory, and instead of sending illiev back we’re waiting to see if we can offload Burgoyne/Gregory

Forgive me if I’m being too organised here, but my calendar fills up quite some way in advance. Does anyone have any concrete plans yet for Cam’s birthday celebrations this coming January?

Scooter, Chirkshrew and myself are planning a trip to Boston to take in their home game with Buxton on the 20th of January. If we can get enough interest we will hire a mini bus or potentially a 53 seater coach (cost dependant on numbers) Chirksrew has a friend in the t shirt printing business and is looking to get celebratory shirts printed up for the occasion. Really looking forward to seeing Cam in action again and celebrating his birthday with a few high quality, independent craft beers.

Really looking forward to seeing Cam in action again and celebrating his birthday with a few high quality, independent craft beers. Add me and my significant other (no, not Cam, we're just good mates 😅) to the list please. I'm a size medium on the t-shirt front. And the back for that matter haha. For those of you fancying two trips to Lincolnshire in January, it goes without saying that The Hound and I will be at Glanford Park for The Iron's clash with Boston on the 6th. Even though Cam's a mate I'll obviously not be able to go as far as to wish him good luck against us especially as it's a bit of a derby, and will be roaring any goals that go past him. All in good fun though as Cam understands the assignment, and will be happy to join us for a post-match spritzer or two. And it's far enough away from his birthday for it to not bother him too much on that front. There is a chance we'll get to the FA Cup third round and be playing that day, but checked with Mortgagehound and he's confirmed he'll prioritise the Scunny game and I'd imagine that'll be the case for many of the Salopian Iron. I guess the ideal scenario would be if Salop are the Saturday lunchtime game and they can put it on at Iron Brew so we can get ourselves nicely warmed up pre-match. Good job there's no extra time though, that would present a real Sophie's choice for many of us if we had to choose between games!
