I note that Chester's Chairman, Stephen Vaughan, has now insulted you guys as well. He did the same to us regarding Phil Jevons. I also note he tells the media before any of the clubs! What a t*****. Text below is taken from TeamTalk.
Shrews reject Tolley bid
Shrewsbury have rejected a "ridiculous" attempt by Chester to lure Welsh Under-21 midfielder Jamie Tolley away from Gay Meadow.
The Shrews board immediately responded by dismissing the bid from their League Two rivals - a maximum of £10,000 - branded as "ridiculous" by manager Gary Peters.
He said: "There's no bid been in from Chester, they sent a fax stating that they would pay £5,000 now and £5,000 in a year's time. They tried to make out it was a five-figure fee; £10,000 is a five-figure fee but I think they were trying to make it look in their local paper that they had offered 90-100 grand.
"If you are going to do something you may as well do it legitimately and properly, but to send a fax with something as stupid as that and then to tell your local paper about it makes me wonder what they are trying to achieve. It's ridiculous and even if they had offered that sort of money Jamie wouldn't be available," he told the club's official website.

Chester are trying to make a lot of noise without actually signing anyone
I think they are running out of money but are still trying to look the part
and they think they can unsettle players who will jump at the chance to work with Ian Rush
The fact is I wouldn;t wan't to sit across the table from Gary and tell him I wanted to leave to go to a nothing club in a biscuit tin

Oh never mind soon be time for the waders and watching your bath tub of a ground fill up with s**t and silt from The Severn.

Bearing in mind the new league regualtions of turnover and wages I'd have thought Tolley would have had to take a wage cut if he did join Chester, as their average attendance is lower than Towns. Mind you judging by Fridays Shropshire Star the Chester bid for Tolley seems to have given the Town players a pre christmas laugh!
