Hoping to see Anderson picking up a few tomorrow with predicted overcast conditions.
Not looking forward to queuing to get in! Can’t get there early and guessing will take a while to check everyone on the way in.

Devon Conway is certainly the real deal.
England are struggling to make the breakthrough needed.

Possibly the greatest display in 2021 world cricket by Shagger yesterday. Truly a one-off special talent.

Too easy for New Zealand so far this morning 🙁 Sone of our ground fielding is not up to standard either.
NZ are certainly going to miss Ross Taylor when he retires.

71/6 just Root and the bowlers left. Heaven knows what the Aussies would do to this mob.

Heaven knows what the Aussies would do to this mob. well, we do have Bairstow, Stokes, Buttler, Archer, Woakes, S Curran and maybe Moeen to replace Bracey, Stone, Crawley, Sibley. Pope needs a score too. Not sure who'd open with Burns though. Libby of Worcs seems to be in good form.

So much messing around with the team and very little time to create a settled 11.
Bring back Bell.

It's been a series to forget for James Bracey. I doubt we will see him play for England again in the near future.

ECB have clearly now opened up a can of worms with their handling of the Ollie Robinson case. www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/19366168.lancashire-county-cricket-club-investigating-players-abhorrent-historic-tweets/LANCASHIRE County Cricket Club has launched an ‘immediate investigation’ after discriminatory historical tweets on several of its players' accounts came to light, the Lancashire Telegraph can exclusively reveal. More than 50 tweets, dating back to 2011, were found to contain racist, homophobic, anti-disability or misogynistic content. The offending material was posted on the accounts of Darwen-born Alex Davies, 26, Liam Hurt, Luke Wells, Josh Bohannon and Richard Gleeson several years ago but the tweets were removed after the club was contacted by the Lancashire Telegraph. Davies, Hurt and Bohannon were all under 18 when the tweets were posted but they had been left on their accounts until this week.

Batting wise need to look for some options as some of those just don’t look mentally strong enough or technically good enough. Ashes going to be painful.
Looks like batting line up
Burns ? ? Root Stokes Pope/Lawrence Butler
Pope looks like there should be a player there and potential with Lawrence. But neither convincing yet. Plus butler not really proved himself in red ball cricket.
Bowling wise. Plenty of options but really lack quality spin option.

But clearly the ECB might find his past history a little too difficult to come to terms with.

Don't expect things to last too long this morning .... unless Anderson & Stone can stick a few runs in the board
Update : that was as fast as it could possibly be - 1 ball!!
Feel for any fans gone through all the hassle to get tickets for today.
** only bonus it was less than 15 overs of play so according to Sky fans will at least get a ticket refund

The fans have well and truly been short changed 🙁
New Zealand are a very good team and have well and truly given us a cricketing lesson and with virtually an A side too.
As for England and the media, I just wish they would shut up about the winter Ashes; they need to concentrate on the here and now.
