enough dwelling on last week next up Away Ipswich next Sat then Away MKD Tues very tough at the best of times and i reckon Sam will need at least 2 points at the very least to keep his job and maybe a poor showing next saturday might be it all done anyone else think he will still be in charge come the cup game ? ( not what you hope, but what you predict ) i think he might just hang onto his job, its certainly like a great drama at the moment as we eagerly await the next episode having been left with a cliff hanger each week

Certainly not expecting much from these 2 games. 2 points would be a decent return.
As to whether that means he is gone I still don't know. We are not a sacking club and probably one of those reasons is that it means paying a manager off. For that reason he may still be here for the cup game.

2 points would be a good return; avoid getting another Peterborough-like score and I think he will survive even if he gets 0 points.

It’ll need Williams, Pierre and Ebanks-Landell to up their game considerably to get anything at all.
Viewing each game individually 2 points would be decent, but even if that happens we’ll be properly in the mire.

I'd take an utter mullering at MK just to avoid defeat on Saturday and the inevitable roasting I'll get from my 11 year old Ipswich season ticket holding son! 😁👍

I’d be the opposite. I’d take a loss on Saturday if we could hammer Milton Keynes.

Keep the faith! I would really be interested to know how Roland sees it in the stars, in fact I would be interested to know what influence anything like this has actually had on STFC. Things do seem to swing your way sometimes, could there be something in this stars thing?

There's money in them there cup games and a feel good factor induced by cup wins might just keep us up.

i hope for two points but as a pessamistic i expect nothing, on paper we have won two and drawn one of our last three games. if it was not for the way the defence nearly threw two iof the games away and we strugle to keep hold of a lead i would be moe optamistic the only glimer of hope is we have started to score goals.but then i think of our defence !!

I guess that's the problem when you're on such an awful run and you haven't managed to take points where you're expected to, where you ought to have done. As for me it means you can't now go into games like this thinking a couple of points is a decent return (when you might have otherwise thought so).
We're up s**t creak and never mind a paddle, we've no boat. There are no free hits when you're on the run we're on. If you're losing to the better sides in the division but picking up points elsewhere then you can get the benefit of the doubt but as we're not. I just hope he doesn't start thinking that a point is a good return from either of these games. For me we're beyond that now with 11 games gone (what will be 13 and 13)...we have to start winning.

every team in the league knows how poor our defence is any good team will rip them apart and we cant do much about it till the next transfer window or the manager can find a way for them to defend or he puts a a swepper in front of them.

Hehe, yup, ordinarily, but I'd take that if it avoided a mullering by Ipswich, given my circumstances!

Can Town conclusively turn around their dismal start to the league season? (cups have been good so far) Is form only temporary.....and how many games is temporary? 5? 10? 15? half a season? Strangely we were just outside the top 6 this time last season...… so back then were on some run of fluky good form, no? Will our defence ever recover their senses.....or was Goldbourne in fact the key man....or Love, or was it even Beckles!? Will some ex's (Nolan and Toto) get the better of us yet again... Just how much teeth-gnashing might that induce? Are we actually any better than MK Dons ? or just a similar standard ? Can we live with that? If we get to mid season (about Jan 2nd - just after Crewe)where will we be? bottom or about mid-table (again). Will we still have a manager by then ? Will Cummings have even scored? Does the radio Shropshire commentary bear any resemblance to whats actually happening on the pitch? Why can't I pick the team ? Waaaaaaaaaah.
Tune in next sat for the next (almost) entertaining episode of Shrews-are-pants / ace / dire / an often random lower to mid-table Div 1 side....get over it.
My expectations are......it will remain random for some time. So we'll beat Ipswich then.

I think we'll get beaten in both games. If they're narrow defeats I think he'll keep his job, if we get spanked like we did at Peterborough then I think he'll be sacked, perhaps before the MKD game. Any points will be a bonus and will see him keep his job for Oxford City (where we might lose!!!). This season is certainly a soap opera!

SR is going nowhere guys, the results of the next two games are immaterial.
Whatever happens he has until after Christmas and only then if we are still bottom 4.

Even at the best of times, Ipswich away is daunting and will be no surprise if we come away with nothing - but any sort of result would be excellent. Possibly we should be reasonably looking for a point at MK but again it's a tricky game and no great expectations. So, I think Sam will be there for the Oxford game which we must win. Then we have two home games (Accy and Charlton) and which you would expect at least 4 points from. If we don't manage to win one of those home games and Sam survives then we can only assume that it's a financial issue not a footballing one.

Who knows what to expect from this Town team? It would not surprise me if we got a win at either Ipswich or MK. On the plus side we have Whalley and Edwards back and promising new players like Millar and Tracey and we have started to score a few goals. Vela can add some energy to the midfield if he manages to complete the game. I would like to see Walker drafted into the back three as he seems to be steadier than a couple of them in there at the moment. Ricketts has survived thus far and I expect him to take us at least into the New Year as clearly the board do not want to make a change in the present financial circumstances.
