A big to the 'it' girls simply having to have the new eskimo style 'bunny' fur boots at the bargain price of £330 (ish) in Harrods today I was just walking past when the assistant was going on to these two girls (obvious regulars first name basis) that the boots had only come in stock this morning and they had already had 60 calls from people wanting them, so i had a nosey at the price tag and there it was in the 'ingredients' list 'Rabbit Fur' it just made me feel sick (Im actually kinda shocked at my own reaction) I just hate that i even touched them. Im not usually a judgemental person but watching those girls going on about how fabulous each other looked in them just made something in me snap and I know its only my opinion they can probably justify wearing fur, I just needed a bit of a rant about it

It's funny how some people react so differently to rabbit fur trimmed boots than usual boots made of regular old cow's skin. The same goes for food - people are shocked at thought of horse meat in France (here in Japan too) or dog meat in Korea, but most of them will happily eat chicken, beef or even worse lamb (which is after all a baby animal).

I think its more the fuss that there have been over Beyonce wearing these boots because allegedly the Rabbits are skinned alive (something to do with the fur looking better and not getting 'ruined' by blood) and I just couldnt get that image out of my head

Well. me neither - but if they are skinned alive I can at least see why others would be bothered about it.

no seriously would they be so keen if it was cat fur?? There was an item on 'This Morning' a couple of weeks back they were interviewing Heather Mills (i think, i only just caught the end of it) about the campaigning she is doing against the dog fur trade But back to the bunnies before today it never 'really' bothered me as it was just something that i would never chose to wear (and in all reality wouldnt come into contact with) it was just as i was touching one of the boots and read the label it clicked instantly about the anti - 'Mukluk' boot stuff Id heard and instictively i just snatched my hand away it just sent a shiver up my spine to make that connection

It is the old eat the ugly ones thing isn't it. Dennis leary sums it up well Don't eat the Tuna fish! Why? Dolphins get stuck in the nets! What about the tuna fish? Oh **** them they taste good!

But little fluffy white lambs aren't ugly. Calling the meat lamb is misleading, they are normally pretty big by the time they become chops.
