Completely agree. The club have done all they can. Now it’s up to others.
I truly can’t see why anyone should give them grief at all. If nothing else, the last six months should have convinced everyone that football is only a very small part of what is good in this life.

some ? most will be disappointed, no win for town here Funny how differently people see the same thing. I'd be surprised if anyone could legitimately claim to be disappointed if they miss out on a random ballot, and can't see how town can possibly come out of this with anything other than great credit given the incredible efforts they've made to try and be part of this pilot. i meant disappointed at not being able to go to the game and not at the way town decide to handle it, saying that i hope they keep it fair if this is long term, eg the games should be evened out for all fans with tickets

Could the club not rotate the season ticket holders game by game or is it a one off trial?

I’m genuinely not bothered about going this Saturday if the opportunity arose, I’d rather go to a non league game and that’s what I’m planning anyway, so that’s one less season ticket holder the ticket office need to think about. Sooner watch non league than your own team? How odd Personally I think it's odd that people want to watch their own team in the void of a silenced, separated 'crowd' of 1,000, but each to their own. I feel for the club but I'm not regretting my decision not to renew my season ticket. When crowds can be crowds again, I'll be back. Meanwhile, I'm very happy to have the streaming option and perhaps get along to a non-league game or two.

I don’t see how watching some random non league game, presumably also with social distancing rules in place, can be any better an experience!! Some of the replies on here it’s not surprising the Meadow is so sterile even in normal times

I think it's more about getting out and about.
A semblance of normality, whether it be watch Salop or Market Drayton.
As for Saturday, it would be nice to pop along, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.
It's been 6 months, a few more weeks won't hurt.

The grounds bad enough atmosphere wise on a normal game, couldn't think of anything worse than attending in the current climate!
For me if I can't be with my mates, make a noise and have a laugh with others I'm really not interested.

It’s going to be an absolutely s**te live football experience. But it’s going to be better being there than watching from my living room.
My expectations have significantly lowered given the situation & I think the club have put an awful lot of effort in and deserve a small crowd in attendance. Hope I get chance to go, if not, it’s not their fault and hopefully more of us will be there in October.

I've said before but the experience doesn't sound great but its an opportunity to meet up with friends before and watch some football, a step in the right direction. Ironically I'm now away at the weekend so won't be able to attend, I can't say I'm overly disappointed but had I been here then I'd have gone (if I managed to get a ticket). I know the ticketing situation isn't ideal but remember that not everyone of our ST holders can make the game or will want to go the game in the current climate. Not sure about logistics and time but ideally you'd do a 'express an interest' type thing for fans and only those who apply are considered for the game.

I can’t see how watching a streamed match is anywhere near as good as watching live even with only 1000 fans, but each to their own.

Absolutely aimed at boris NWM 👍 That's o.k. I realised that immediately. And at least billynomates has only posted on here twice in the last 3 months - both posts attacking me interestingly enough. But there's no excuse for Downie. He supports Boris 🤪

I am a bit of a numpty when it comes to anything to do with finance - but how does letting in a thousand season ticket holders in to the game on Saturday help the club out financially? They have already paid for their ticket and i am assuming extra costs will be incurred with regard to stewarding etc? Because they can claim their money back if they want........

Saturday probably won't help the club financially, in fact will probably cost them, but it's a step back towards normality, or at least a new kind of normality, and the club need to take this first step as part of that journey back to higher crowds. Well done to STFC here in taking this step. Everyone has their own reason for going, and for what they get out of a day. For many of the games I attend, home and away, I go alone, and always have done. Yes, the atmosphere will be different, yes, the experience will be different but, goodness me, give me any kind of live football ahead of streaming every single day of the year.

Some of the replies on here it’s not surprising the Meadow is so sterile even in normal times As I said, each to their own. First time I went to see Town play it was a random lower league game nearest to where I lived. Non-league games have a different atmosphere and fewer restrictions and I don't expect social distancing measures will have changed that distinction. Not sure why you feel the need to have a pop at fellow supporters who take a different view to you but there you go.

Nothing can beat a live match but watching it live is the next best thing followed by listening to Stuart Dunn.
People will choose what suits them and that’s how it should be.

So I take it everybody has to buy individual tickets? So we can’t sit next to someone in the same household or in a bubble with no?

read the article, states that bubbles of up to 4, but would imagine only bubbles from same household
and then you will have the "i do what i want brigade, and sit where i want brigade, this will be great viewing!!

And if the latter are they definitely be able to get a ticket next to me? Trying to get hold of 2 people in my bubble but they’re not responding.

But thats stupid if that's the case, government guidance is groups of 6 from up to 6 households As it is if i get a ticket i'll be on my own but no need to be more strict than Government guidance surely Or is it all about remaining social distanced with other people outside your house?
