I think I must be missing something here. The County badge is blue & amber as is the Town badge - what possible rationale is there to move away from that? Just because "we used to play in blue & white" is irrelevant. The number of fans who can remember us playing in those colours (easily pre-dates me) is sadly dwindling year on year and we need to keep what tradition we do have left particularly once we leave our home. Ask any footie fans not connected with Town what colours we play in and you'll only get 1 reply. The vast majority of footage of us will show us in blue & amber & our greatest highlights, the late 70's & early 80's peaks, Great Escape, Everton etc. There is no reason to change - please don't

jamo will like this one !!
one of my proudest moments was wearing my paul petts amber and blue top that shakey reproduced for the retro shirt in Lebanon at the final of the Asian Cup in 2002.
The head journalist of AFP who is dutch and im racking my brains for his name.. came up to me and said.. SHREWSBURY TOWN !! They beat man city in the FA Cup .. I remember watching it in holland on TV. Nice kit !
Everton - Chesterfield - Ipwsich - Birmingham City - Millwall - Leicester City - Cardiff City - Tranmere (until few years ago) - Rochdale = blue white blue
Shrewsbury Town - blue and amber
footnote - Torquay and Mansfield - yellow and blue
I see us as a Plymouth in having an unique kit and not a subbuteo fan buying team 2 and it could be 7 teams.

Why didn'y you just say you were wearing your B & A retro shirt...you didn't have to mention Paul Petts However i am in agreement with the sentiment of your post, the Town have to remain in blue and amber. I don't buy replica shirt's but my son does along with many hundred's of others. The fanbase needs to mobilise now and make their feelings known before a commercial decision is made that becomes irreversible. Lets actively petition the club's supporters and produce the evidence to the board making it perfectly clear our feelings on the matter. If they still won't listen tell them that a boycott on buying the new kit will be instigated. Sometimes direct action is called for .

I recall a couple of years ago the directors making a press statement outlining the clubs decision to make Blue and Amber the clubs corporate colours and quoting several sound business reasons why this made sense - corporate identity, unique brand, etc.
For them to retract this just goes to show that we have people on the board really not in touch with the real feeling of the fans, and indeed people whose business acuman must be questioing if this decision is carried forward.
People who really have forgotton what it is like to see the faces on all the lads and lasses going down the Wyle Cop..
People who have long since lost knowing what the feeling is like to stand on the terrace , have a pre-match pint in the pub, to wear your shirt with pride on holiday, and the warm feeling you get when someone in a foreign land recognises it, the identity and roots it gives one.
I remember only last year a bloke shouting 'Oi Shrewsbury' at me across Broadway in New York whilst wearing my retro top. I remember being in the changing room with Toen legends prior to the Dream Team charity game, and to hear my boyhood heros remarking on how they though it was the best kit Town have ever had....
ARE YOU LISTENING STFC!!!!!
BLUE AND AMBER FOREVER

It must p**s the club off that even if we get a blue & white retro shirt we go to Shakey and get the Rowley one. They have missed out on the retro market and they are going to cock up the current shirt market. Businessmen ?
