Good to see the Labour Party replacing one multimillionaire as leader with another multimillionaire I didn’t know much at all about Keir Starmer, read this and assumed he was another politician who came from a wealthy family and attended Eton or similar establishment It turns out he had working class parents, went to grammar school, qualified as a lawyer and had a successful career. Whether that makes him a multimillionaire I have no idea, but at least he has worked for what he has Yep, hasn't forgotten where he came from.

Congratulations too , to JR-M and his family who are continuing to make shed loads of money whilst this period in our history continues . It just goes to prove that you can’t keep a good Tory down , Not that Jacob has ever been kept down as he has always been floating on a sea of obscene wealth whilst telling those less minted how to live their miserable lives .
Whilst I’m at it I may as well congratulate one David Cameron and his sidekick Gideon Osborne . Excellent fellows who decided austerity was the way forward and that our NHS has enough resources to cope with any national emergency . We all know how this played out unfortunately . David and Gideon are relaxing at home self isolating which they have been doing since they f.cked up the Country and decided to leg it.
Such is life in the world of wealth and privilege.

Yes, well done to all who are continuing to run their business's in these tough times and no doubt making the correct tax payments and helping to keep the country going.

Is this the same Kier Starmer that when in charge of the CPS decided there was "insufficient evidence" to convict Jimmy Saville? I don't know whether that's intended as a joke but it's certainly a below the belt smear. Let's look into it a bit deeper: Starmer was DPP from November 2008 until November 2013. Friend of royalty, Sir James Wilson Vincent Savile (knighted by Thatcher in 1990 at the 5th attempt) OBE (courtesy of another Tory PM, Heath) died in October 2011. At the time of his death he was still generally regarded as a good guy for his charitable fund raising. Reports of alleged sexual abuse surfaced about a year after he died and Operation Yewtree began in October 2012. A joint Met Police/NSPCC report was published in January 2013 and the investigation was extended in October 2013, with the findings reported in June 2014. A BBC Newsnight team began investigating allegations of sexual abuse after Savile died and discovered that Surrey Police had conducted an investigation in 2009, when Savile was questioned. The matter was referred to the CPS, which indeed advised there was insufficient evidence to take further action. I don't know the extent of Starmer's involvement in that CPS decision but that's beside the point. Bearing in mind that Savile was already dead before his behaviour was being called into question, that the two Surrey officers who conducted the 2009 investigation were subsequently themselves investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission, that Jersey Police had found insufficient evidence to proceed following a 1970s allegation and that Savile had taken legal action against accusers in the past, an attempted prosecution would not have enjoyed the easy ride that hindsight would now lend it. Unless you're suggesting that Starmer had some nefarious reason for the decision (assuming it was entirely his), then you have to accept that the CPS decision would have been made on the basis of the evidence presented by Surrey Police. It seems clear this was inadequate. The CPS can't pursue cases in the hope it might win, it needs to have a reasonable degree of likelihood of success and even then it won't always succeed. By the time the evidence against Savile was overwhelming, Starmer was no longer DPP but, more to the point, Savile was dead, so no prosecution could be conducted. There were undoubtedly mistakes and failings all over the place when it comes to Savile - the police, the BBC, the Tory Party, the monarchy. Loading the blame onto Starmer isn't supported by the facts.
