My first thought was Why but having read the article seems like good reasons.

I would think he would have been a good choice for Town manager if we needed a change which we dont at the moment.

Moving to Bristol in 2018 after spending 10 years at Shrewsbury and Southend doesn't seem to make much sense then, bearing his mind his links with Sheffield. I feel sorry for the Rovers fans. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Coughlan

I know where I would choose to live and bring up a family, and it's not Sheffield or Mansfield. On the football side this is very very strange, go from L1 going well, to L2 not going well, along with some owners who have delusions of grandeur but lack the foresight to achieve it, due to the desire of instant success. Good luck Graham you were a top man here and would love to see you do well.

Wasn't his family home in Sheffield when he the job? Didn't bother him then.

I feel sorry for the Rovers fans. You'll probably be the only one! Sod 'em.

There may well be new family reasons for him wishing to move back that are no one else’s business. His decision should be respected.

That comment about respect could apply to so many threads on here and like hypocrisy it is something in abundance!!!!

Thanks for that RB but I have my own opinion thanks, so sorry it doesn't concur with yours, and for the record I did not slate Sheffield or Mansfield just implied I would prefer Bristol, but I suppose us losers know f all compared to some.

I wonder if he'll be met at Mansfield by Carolyn Radford in her Rolls Royce and be given the Nicky Maynard treatment before being taken to sign his contract.

Well even if it is a move that will suit his family life, career wise it’s a very risky move, Rovers were doing just fine under him.

What special treatment did Maynard receive? I haven't heard this story. The video was on here recently. She met him off the plane in Portugal and impressed him with her money and all it’s trappings before pushing a contract under his nose. From what I saw of Mansfield against us in the cup the new manager will have his work cut out.

He is going to a club where the only way is up and money likely be be available. A challenge he can focus on whilst living at home. Good luck to him.
