There is an excellent YouTube channel 1980s football with some town footage on , some I’ve never seen

Around the time I started to follow Town. Wasn't this quite far into the League Cup? I was allowed to stay up late especially to watch the highlights come in on the evening (pretty sure there were highlights the same night on the box). Was gutted having watched them...

Never seen this footage before though i was there at the game. Competed comfortably with them except for the penalty if i remember. Was a quarter final game, and just about at that time our only ever run in the League Cup apart from the very first season 20 odd years before when we made the semis.

Yes, I was at this game and it's the first time I've seen the footage. Shame we lost...
I can't remember whether it was this game or the later League Cup game that was one of the most frightening experiences I had a a Town match. I got there early, having travelled over from Portsmouth, and was directed into one of the 'cages'. It started to fill up and then my brother, who had travelled from Shrewsbury, turned up. It was starting to get very crowded - as in very uncomfortably so, but Town fans were still be directed into the same area because, the police thought, we were only bring a few hundred fans and said that to my brother when he mentioned it on his way in. Yet my brother knew that it was going to be around the 1500 mark. Eventually the police saw the light and opened up the other area...
Anyone else remember this?

I am pretty that would have been this game. We did go there in the 90’s for a two leg game in an early round, but I don’t think it was particularly full that time, although we did win over the two legs. That was the year we lost to Blackburn

I actually remember these highlights, because the PA announcer at the next Town game complemented ITV for their "extensive" highlights package! I think the program was about 1 hour long and they tacked our highlights on at the end! I still wonder to this day what the feck Hackett was thinking!

I went to the game but don’t remember us hitting the bar, thought the whole game was pretty flat at the time.
