1. O’Leary 2. Love 3. Giles 4. Pierre 5. Ebanks-Landell 6. Goldbourne 7. Norburn 8. Laurent 9. Thompson 10. Edwards 11. Okenabirhie
Out go Beckles, Williams, Cummings. I can’t drop Goldbourne because he’s been playing well and looked comfortable in the back three playing out from the back. This makes way for Giles to return in his usual left wingback position. I’m playing Edwards just behind Okenabirhie making intelligent runs and being difficult to pick up for their defenders. Thompson will drift from the middle to wide right when we’re attacking.

I'd certainly bring in Giles, but as a replacement for Thompson to support Cummings up front. Fejiri for Edwards is another change I'd be considering. Plus O'Leary for Murphy and Ebanks Landell for either Beckles or Williams.

I'd like to try something different myself
it would be based around Giles playing out and out winger and not wing back
I'm thinking 4-2-1-2-1
with Giles , Cummings and Thompson up top
max obviously has to come back in, I did suggest last week that max should start v Bristol with Murphy getting the cup game but bit late for that now
love, Pierre, Ebanks and Golbourne being the back 4
middle 3 being Edwards , Norburn and an attacking Lauren
max love, Pierre, EBanks, Golbourne Edwards, Norburn laurent Thompson, giles Cummings

It's a bit harsh on Beccles isn't it, contender for L1 player of the month in October, international acclaim, and now the scapegoat of a couple (or one) dodgy result. Who was it who said football fans were a fickle bunch!!

Who was it who said football fans were a fickle bunch!! You are only as good as your last performance. Going back to when I played, a former FA Cup winner who was our captain said that no matter how many saves I made, I should remember that that is what I am therefore. You are judged on how many mistakes you make and that is s what will be considered when the team sheet for the next game is compiled.

Really, if that is the case then surely most teams would be chopping and changing every game, whereas most successful teams in sport are built on a settled team environment. There is an old saying that is very true "the man who never makes a mistake is the man who does nothing". Given your opinion on you, are only as good as your last performance, this surely means we need more players.

I don't get the love in with beckles, yes he has been OK the last few weeks but he is always a liability and gives me anxiety every time he is on the ball. I personally think he would be better as a defensive mid.
Any news on Whalley? Is he injured? How long for?

I said that you are judged on the number of mistakes that you make and although I have publicly acknowledged that Omar has shown an improvement lately, he has cost more goals through errors than any other individual. He has scored three at the other end, but just ask yourself what the reaction would be if Waterfall had made similar errors. As for needing better players - every manager from the top down is always on the lookout for those and I am sure SR is no different.

I thought Waterfall was poorly treated on here as he seemed to be a scapegoat for the rest of the poor individual performances last season, and has you rightly pointed out he scored some important goals. It seems that Beccles is being singled out a bit here, especially when one of the more favourable players got away with something that could have cost the himself, and essentially the team, a 3 match ban on Saturday. Having being involved in a coaching role in junior cricket and football I would never have dropped a player on a small number of individual mistakes, as you see the bigger picture during training of their capabilities. Players make mistakes all over the pitch every game, and fairly consistently, but only certain ones seem to be seen by the majority of supporters, which usually is the result of a goal being conceded rather than a missed opportunity.

Who was it who said football fans were a fickle bunch!! Hardly fickle , in my team it’s a cup game against league 2 , the guy needs a week off and some of the others need a game Silly post of yours really The fact you don’t mention Murphy suggests you are ok with that change after one bad game

The original poster says he would leave out players and keep others because he can't see how they can be " dropped", which suggests that the ones he has omitted are not being rested but dropped. I totally agree we should rotate and rest wherever possible.
