If I was him i know where i would go, championship wages or Shrewsbury hmmm. Short career so they have to make hay while the sun shines, albeit if there is any truth in any of these rumours or post.

I really don’t care what Barry Fry says.... I have a hunch that we are in for Docherty as we speak and have a good chance of making this happen. Possibly Laurent or Norburn moving on to fund the deal which I would imagine would be around £500k. Doesn’t make sense, I just have a feeling. He knows the club, he knows the management and he knows he will get game time. We have also put together a decent squad and we are doing well in the league. I just don’t realistically see which Championship side would be in for him based on his time on game time so far this season. Time will tell I suppose. Wigan or Luton you'd imagine.

I think the signing would be in hope of keeping them up with a view of knowing they'll have double figure goals/assists in the bag if he replicates his L1 form and gets better service if they go down. No doubting he's a quality number 10.

Dear Santa,
If Mr Ricketts would like Docherty in the squad then please deliver some Shrewsbury Town reminders of his loan spell with us to him so that he knows Shrewsbury Town is the place to be.
And for Mr Ricketts, please make sure all those naughty little elves don't come in for the players Mr Ricketts wants to keep.
I am sure mince pies and carrots for the rheindeer will be waiting for you at MWM, but I should give the meat pies a miss.

The good thing for us is that our players are still early into 2 or 3 year contracts and we have money in the bank, meaning that we can reject offers if we do not wish to sell - just as we did with Norburn in the summer. The fact that the team spirit is so good, would suggest that the players are happy at the club and can see that our future is looking bright.

No doubting he's a quality number 10. Sorry Martin but he is not a championship player, never played in it, had one season at a struggling L1 club, no real game time for 6 months, so no pedigree at this level (yet). So whichever championship club decides to sign him will be taking a risk, and he would struggle to get into our team at present given his lack of first team football.

Looking at it without blue & amber specs on, why would he sign for us when he a) has a Championship club in the wings and b) he’s rejected Peterborough who are up near the top? Football is ruthless and player’s have no loyalty as they’re looking after their and their families best interests. Wake up!!

Hopefully the fact he’s played no football this year will put him off signing permanently for a championship team until the Summer. He knows if he comes here he could play 20 games and earn a better move and hit the ground running for the following season. It also seems that Brian Caldwell knows Docherty far better than most seem to know, seems he’s in contact with Greg’s family as well as himself having met him for meals etc this season. Think signing him on a perm is unrealistic but I think a loan is possible and hopefully happens

Personally I think it’s a big gamble on him whoever he signs for - practically no football this season so he’s hardly going to hit the ground running and that’s what you need in January, somebody fit and ready to go

Taking of low IQs, I have been trying to think of a way to combine Docherty and Liverpool in one post so Pilch’s head explodes, but I’m not clever enough.

Impressive result on the road for Rangers today. I know he's not getting any game time, but can only assume that the stiff threat of him coming back into the reckoning is spurring the current first teamers onto bigger and better things. Keep it up, Greg! 💪

One way or another the Docherty saga will end in the next few days. IF he did come to us it would be great fun reading what other clubs like Peterborough say about us. The Bolton manager is already questioning why and how we can attract decent players. There is likely to be a top level investigation into our finances and questions asked in the house about Roland.
