If it wasn’t for the Goal line technology error v Sheffield United, Villa would’ve gone down instead of Bournemouth.

Barrow really need to get new appointment spot on.
After taking 50 years to get back in the league, it would be a great shame to go straight back down

Third time unlucky for Stuart McCall.
Bradford City are another club who have been languishing in the bottom tier for a while now.

Ian Holloway has left struggling Grimsby. Back to being a TV pundit Ian?

Like I said when the Shrop Star ran the "Hurst Keen" story, it should be labelled "advertorial".

Lewis Cox certainly seems to be a big fan of him, I suspected they were still in contact and this helps confirm it.

Certainly does. He conveniently forgets how he left us. No accounting for taste I guess.

Yes just seen this on our local news. Unless he doesn’t want the job they could be well advised to do what we did with Fred Davies.

After the mess he left at Ipswich and Scunny, good to see no Juan is reaching out to the slithering Juan.

Be interesting to see if Grimsby forgive Hurst or are are they as bitter as some of our fans? They have got history of reappointing ex managers...

Obviously Mr Hursts stock has fallen quite a lot in 2 years if an untried candidate can beat him.
Karma, what comes around and all that....

Several promotions at lower levels than us, that's why we tried him. It nearly worked for us too, then he tried too big a jump for him. The great season he gave us sets up his stall with us as a good manager with dodgy morals, but several promotions at lower levels than us a few years ago does not make a job winning CV.

I'm expecting a bit of flak for this but here we go.......
I really wish that some Shrews fans would 'get over' the Paul Hurst thing. After the season we had there was always going to be a huge possibility that he would leave our club.
The way he did it was inexcusable I agree, but I bet my bottom dollar that on reflection he would choose to do it with a lot more dignity if given the situation again.
So come on all you grudge holders, just let it go, move on and be thankful that without him we would not have had the most fantastic season (apart from the end product) we've seen down the Meadow for many a year.
I am almost 80 and doubt if I will see another one like it, so I'm thankful to Mr Hurst for it. I went to nearly all the home & away games and how I didn't have a heart attack celebrating some wins is beyond belief.
I was certainly angry with the way he left, but I'm over it and I never hold grudges, it just leads to more stress when certain subjects are raised.
I certainly don't think he has become a crap manager overnight. He inherited an Ipswich team which wasn't very good and certainly didn't want to play for him. I don't think the Scunny board of directors upheld there promises to him (and the team were doing ok under him) so I gather he 'walked' !!
And last of all.... did I want him back ? NO WAY, as it would have split the fanbase at MY club. THE END

Ipswich and Sc***horpe had too much going on behind the scenes as do Grimsby. Town and Hurst were a good fit at the time. Never again for us but would like to see him link up with a well run League 2 club.

NO WAY, as it would have split the fanbase at MY club. THE END Fair appraisal. One of the things that rankles with me re.Hurst... and it’s not really his fault, is the way that kids and the social media brigade seem to regard him as some kind of club legend. For a club that (amongst other things) has had the Football League all-time record goalscorer as a player, managed to win a place in the second tier, held its own there through the 80s, beat some of the country’s most prominent teams in the process, has won league championships, fought its way out of a notoriously tough Conference league at the first attempt... to bestow legendary status upon Paul Hurst and his squad seems a bit much. He and most of the squad were quick enough to capitalise on that good season and sort themselves out with better deals elsewhere as soon as the play-offs were done. Natural career behaviour, but hardly the stuff legends are made of. One of the best things about having SC on board is that it finally draws a line under Paul Hurst and puts him in the past. Realistically the boat’s now sailed on him coming back, and we can move forward together as a fanbase and look towards new memories. Had Hurst come back, week one would have been like an episode of EastEnders...
