His work rate probably does not fit the Ricketts ethic and I will be very surprised if it fits in with that of Hurst. He was never a regular starter here under PH. If a player in his early 20s is going to make it big time, he needs to be laying regular first team football now.

He stepped up three divisions only 18 months ago, it's a big ask to establish yourself in those circumstances and that timescale.

I await his improvement - I am yet to be convinced but wish him well.

Good luck to him, seems a nice lad and certainly has some pace.
Mistake? Could be, but he's been with us/on loan for the best part of two seasons and not really achieved anything. If he was 20, perhaps, but he's 23. It has to be now or never for him.
Easy to say he didn't get much game time but then managers don't pick players to give them game time, they pick them because they look good enough to be in the team and four Salop managers have chosen not to do that with Eisa.
My bet is that Eisa's pace and unorthodox style will bring him some success in League 2 but that his questionable ball control and slight build might keep him there. Good to have a sizeable sell-on clause but I wouldn't expect to be cashing in much in future.
The more important question for our prospects this season is who's joining.

I would much prefer to see town playing with wingers like Eisa and Whalley to feed Morrison in the middle but if the manager is not going to do this there is little point in Eisa staying. Good luck to him. I think he will do well in a system that suits his style.

I'm disappointed as well.
SR has taken a big risk with the way that he has got rid of anybody that doesn't fit his current system. Whalley's now the only remaining winger at the club.

On the face of it, I can see he wouldn't fit into our boring aimless hoof ball tactics.

Agree with this. Yes, he might not fit into a 3-5-2 but if we have to change tactics in a game he might have been useful as an impact player in a 3-4-3, 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. To only have one winger on the books is really limiting our options.

Another piece of business by the club. A decent fee no doubt and a sell on for a player who was only ever fluttering on the fringes in his considerable time here.
Another space cleared for a player for the here and now.

Take Whalley out of the equation and that leaves us with no one capable of producing some moments of magic. which is a good reason to keep him, also if we go to plan B who will be the left winger (i know we have giles but he will be going back at the end of the year) "Abo has got real, real good ability and is a player that I see so much potential in,” said Ricketts. “It’s why I was so keen to see him play games in the second half of the season which he did. “He’s shown the reason why he’s highly sought after. There is interest in him because he’s a good player but he’s one I want to have a look at and see where he’s up to." Yet fourty eight days later he has been sold, surley we should be keeping the players with potential! www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbury-town-fc/2019/06/29/sam-ricketts-to-run-rule-over-shrewsbury-winger-abo-eisa/in a few years he will either be another mark pugh / Bradshaw and there will be much gnashing of teeth or his potential will not materlise.

Eisa played the full 90 mins for Sc***horpe yesterday in a 2-2 draw at home to Crawley. Played up front by the looks of it but didn’t score.
Looks like Hurst could will give him a big chance to prove himself this season, I’ll Watch his progress with interest.

I'm sure you'll see 2 strikers coming in before transfer deadline day. If Sammy can't see that, well we've got no hope.get norburn back ASAP, and we'll be fine
