Completely relaxed about this one. Couldn't break into a side that was flying and couldn't break into one that was struggling.

Personally think it’s mad to let him go. Contrary to the strong belief on another thread that he’s no loss and lightweight when given the chance, I’d argue the only real disappointment from AE in his few opportunities was Wycombe away under Coyne.
He looked a real exciting find when Hurst gave him minutes in the run in of the playoff season. He found himself a regular spot and scored a couple in a playoff chasing Colchester team & then scores (if you’re kind enough to include behind closed doors friendlies) 3 or 4 in pre season. I don’t get the logic really in signing and not using him, given he’s blatantly not a total failure it’s bizarre he’s not at least come off our bench more often.
And now we have one winger left on a night we reverted to wingers. You couldn’t make it up.

I agree. He was a player that certainly had the excitement factor. Had pace and wanted to take players on. Could have played him deeper rather than as an out and out winger. In the absence of any creative players in our squad (apart from Whalley and Giles), I think that Ricketts' lack of imagination will cost us a good prospect. Hurst will get the best out of him in league two.

I'd probably lean towards keeping him as an option from the bench, but I've said before that he's a player I like the idea of much more than the reality.

In fact, he played 14 times for Colchester, several times off the bench I believe, which isn't really a "regular spot" considering the length of time he was there. And that was a league below where we are. You could ask Hurst why he didn't use him more, seeing as he signed him and is about to do so again. I admit I found it hard to watch last night's horror show but I can't recall us reverting to wingers, as you say. Bob Rickerton encapsulates Eisa perfectly for me - a player of whom the idea has been better than the reality.

Just hope that the lad goes on and makes a name for himself, there is more than just a handy player in him.

Too soon to be discarding an obviously very talented player who stepped up three divisions only around 18 months ago. Are we to expect the same fate for Daniel Udoh around the end of next year if he hasn't made an impact. Players with ability like this need to be nurtured and developed not written off in such short time scales.

What do I know? Nothing, but personally I would have had him out on loan at Telford for a couple of months, somewhere he ought to be able to build his confidence and succeed, see if we could possibly make a player of him. Then, if not , let him go in January, can't be much of a difference in the undisclosed small fee between now and January, when relegation favourites are looking for anyone who might just score one or two lifesaving goals?

What little I saw of him, he was an entertainer. When he came on against Portsmouth, I was thinking, "go on, Abo, show 'em what they've been missing". Of course he got injured straight away, and that was that.
Reminds me of the Marc Pugh situation. Couldn't get in the team, then came on up at Port Vale. Very unluckily got sent off and that was that.
What became of him?

Bob Rickerton encapsulates Eisa perfectly for me - a player of whom the idea has been better than the reality. Fair enough, I’m not saying he’s a world beater. So he featured 14 times in about 20 games, then. And did alright, some games better than others I remember reading about when searching for how he was getting on. Not a bad little loan spell for a team in good form really.. and then come back and have a pretty good pre season with limited minutes. I just wish we had him on our bench or as an option, I’d rather we’d kept him and gave him chances here. He was excellent when Hurst did give him his chance. In fact.. I thought he might be our little playoff surprise given we entered them in generally poor form. As it happened, we put two left backs on the bench instead! OK, so we swapped from 3 5 2 for the first time and played a part of the match with Whalley & Fejiri slightly wide of Morison. Hugging the touchline they weren’t, but certainly an Eisa opportunity. Or an opportunity for anyone that had a bit of pace and flair about them, but we’d sold him earlier in the day.

Hardly like it’s ancient history...quite easy to remember...lets be on your way now. Irony: the use of words that are the opposite of what you mean, as a way of being funny. (Cambridge dictionary) Something like that anyway, I wouldn't put myself forward as a scholar of the English language, just a long term speaker of it.

Owd Swan isn’t at his best at the moment . First Group have taken over services on the West Coast line from Virgin and its upset him terribly . Don’t know if he will ever recover.

Poor decision by the club, Ricketts says he needs games so send him out on loan again not do a permanent deal.

I feel in a few years down the line we will regret this massively. Good luck to the lad, never really got a proper chance here, and for his sake I hope he goes and kicks on now.

How disappointing. I wish we had given him more game time.
Ah well in Ricketts we must trust...I think 😯

Feels like a mistake on our part. We need someone to add some pace up front and worry the defence. We don't have too many options in that dept at moment.

Poor decision by the club, Ricketts says he needs games so send him out on loan again not do a permanent deal. And the loans to non-league, short term to build his confidence. As has has been stated he was in last year of contract with us, so long term league loans wouldn't be much use. So if Paul Hurst had have come back here Eisa would have stayed here? Hope this doesn't bite us on the bum, strikers are like gold dust if they start firing on all cylinders. Still we have a great sell on clause?

Good decision. In my opinion a six figure transfer fee for someone like Eisa who will never make it in the professional game would be a great piece of business.

As I said a few days ago on here. Fee I've been told is 20k rising to 40k with a 30% sell on fee. We've mugged ourselves off there.
Next, Waterfall joining Grinsby. Should be announced before the weekend.
