Thankyou to everyone who came down and to all those who helped out in the day. Seemed a huge success, there are things we have learned for next year but over all we are very pleased with how it went. Over 1000 people came down which is amazing.

I used to go to the open days, both to take my son, (who came to his senses and stopped coming), who loved going, but also to catch up with Chris Smith in person, so that I could open up my wallet to show him it was empty! I then also my lovely eldest granddaughter. She wasn't bothered about football, but isn't it lovely she wasn't to spend time with an old man? We walked into the tunnel, and there was my favourite ever Town keeper, Ken Mulhearn, who I had met on several occasions before, (and since), but I wasn't expecting him there. I said to Marissa, "blimey, look who's here, this bloke who play a bit". Fantastic keeper was Ken. For those of you that missed him bollocking the defenders for getting out of position missed a treat. How the hell did we sign a goalie who had won a fust division championship medal playing for Man City? Yet a more down to earth bloke you couldn't wish to meet. Quality keeper, quality person. It was good to be around it’s a time when top players were part of the community and did normal jobs when they retired. I knew Harry Dowd who was Ken’s predecessor at City, at the time he was the rep for the brewery that supplied the club I belonged to and he used to come in every Sunday night to take an order, have a pint and a chat. I didn’t know who he was for a long time, we never talked about football and it a City fan coming into the bar and recognising him.
