I'm not sure how the Mansfield v Newport game is still 0-0, both sides have certainly given it a good go and there have been some amazing chances missed and goalmouth scrambles.

Newport win on pens, scored all 5 Should Mansfield’s 4th have counted ? It hit post and came out, hit keeper and went back in

Yes, they were second favourites today I think but showed a lot of spirit and bottle.

One of the most entertaining 0-0s I’ve seen in a long time. Well done Newport.

Nice to see Mickey Demetriuo celebrating with his young son on the pitch.

Same rules apply to an extent, but obviously the offensive player cannot touch the ball again if it comes back into play. Think that is the only thing that differs in a shootout. As Pilch said keeper only is deemed to save it really once the ball stops dead or goes out of play, or referee blows the whistle

Well done Newport and well done Michael Flynn. Good team spirit got them over the line.
Interesting to see Lennie Lawrence alongside Flynn in the dugout. Wonder how Ricketts would do with an experienced guy alongside him? Coyne and Ramsey are still relatively inexperienced in their roles. Wonder if Ricketts has a mentor to bounce ideas or problems off as they happen?

Only Ipswich (😆) and thenew Wombles ground at present. I went to the old FGR ground in the Conference but have not done the new one. Down to single figures of the 92 clubs now, although have not done some of the most recent stadium moves. I think I have done over 140 now, watching Town.

Personally happy to see Tranmere and Newport in the final. Both decent away trips.

Wombles will still be at Kingsmeadow next season, contractors have only just taken possession of the site following demolition of the Greyhound Stadium.

I'm never pleased to see a greyhound stadium closed. Very sad.
On the plus side, if you want to support retired greyhounds, or would like to rehome one, they make great pets and would love you forever. Please be patient with them if you decide to rehome one, especially a Spanish one, they haven't been treated very well, and will have to learn to trust you.

Was hoping for a FGR win tonight - again for selfish reasons!! Only six miles away for me - would have been a nice easy game to get to next season. Here's hoping for a Newport win in the final - a bit further but another relatively easy game to get to!

I like Micky Mellon. I think it was that time he asked the reporter to remove his Ipswich? scarf. Little things like that I like. Glad he's off to the final and I wish him the best of luck...

Little did we know at the time how much removing an Ipswich scarf would come to mean to all of us!!!!

After slow start the CV of MM is looking very impressive. Pleased for him. Though when he was in charge of us in League One our wage budget was 8th highest in the league and he made a right mess of it!
Glad to see he's doing well there though, thoroughly likeable guy. "Fine margains"

From watching all the play-offs, the standard of the L2 games has been absolutely dire. There is certainly no Luton amongst that lot - in fact I suspect whichever one of the remaining play-off contenders makes it through, they will be nailed on to go back down.

Could certianly see that being the case if its Newport, not so much Tranmere if they keep Norwood. 32 goals is a hefty haul in any league!
You'd think Wycombe and Accrington may have 2nd season syndrome and stuggle, as will Bolton if they're hit with another 6 points. I have a feeling they'll get away without dropping if it's only 12 points. Again Bury may struggle depending how their court appearence goes.

That will upset a few supporters - not throwing money around that we can’t afford. Wonder who will come up with the ‘New Bentley for RW’ first then?

Mind you, in some ways, I’d rather have season long loans like Henderson, Godfrey, Docherty, etc., than some wow signing just here for the money
I always like players who want to be here and are eager to do well.
