after kepping lewis and cook (as he will be third choice i would have preffered to have not sent Gregory on loan and shown cook the door) , just relived payne has not been given a contract .if ricketts had kept all three i would have really thought ricketts had lost the plot. <iframe width="18.720000000000027" height="3.6000000000000085" style="position: absolute; width: 18.720000000000027px; height: 3.6000000000000085px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_39242561" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="18.720000000000027" height="3.6000000000000085" style="position: absolute; width: 18.72px; height: 3.6px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 881px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_72458185" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="18.720000000000027" height="3.6000000000000085" style="position: absolute; width: 18.72px; height: 3.6px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 120px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_20967041" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="18.720000000000027" height="3.6000000000000085" style="position: absolute; width: 18.72px; height: 3.6px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 881px; top: 120px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_49605833" scrolling="no"></iframe> Agreed. Surely it would have been better to have sent Gregory on loan to a non-league side with a recall clause to be activated if needed (as we did when recalling Sears from Telford). Having Charles Cook hanging around the place as a non playing 3rd choice keeper does seem a waste of a wage.

At least Payne hasnt been offered a deal............ He's still under contract at Bristol Rovers although don't know how long his contract was for.
If they decide to pay him off then who knows

What is the deadline for a player needing to respond to the offer of a new contract?
I have a feeling it may be a month in which case the offer to Charles-Cook could have expired?

That's a weight off my mind. I really thought we had lost him.

I'm absolutely furious about this. If SR thinks that Charles Cook and LJL are worth new contracts then I can only come to the following conclusions. 1. SR isn't up to the job. 2. Because others might think so, he's only been given licence to shop in the bargain basement. 3. We shall be in another relegation dogfight. classic b******s ;-)

Bit late with your response, as is Charles Cook who has been deliberating ever since in deciding as to whether to sign a new contract. As for LJL, it subsequently came to light he's only been given a 6 month contract until January to give him time to get over his injury (and look for a new Club).

I have adjudicated in this case and my decision is thus and legally binding. Pilch’s point is fair; yourself and several other Salop fans indulged in mindless imbecilities. Whether that was in 1066, last November or today is irrelevant. In future please can anyone looking to impersonate a neurotic halfwit make sweeping witless exaggerations with precious little information to hand. Several people, the usually superb northwestman amongst them, have let themselves down here.
