Pleasant Company (at 16/1) to go one better than last year and win and Walk in the Mill (at 25/1) the best each way bet.

Yep!
If you enough disposable income to wager it on the outcome of a race you have no influence over then maybe you could donate it to charity and do some good in the world.

As I now work for one of the largest charities in UK and are a monthly subscriber to WaterAid what I do with my disposable income really isn't any business of yours; is it?

I think a little flutter on the National is a better bet than making a donation to certain large charities who shall remain nameless but have collectors on Pride Hill most days having seen last year what managers were spending the money on in third world countries.

Suggestions were asked for. I put my opinion out there. Isn't this a message board/discussion group? And I suggested it to davewill. He/She/They can do what they like with the advice. As can all of you. I know that come the end of the Grand National I'll not be worse off for not placing a bet.

Just checking but you do pay to watch Town, right? 22 blokes kicking a bag of wind about a field? Of which you really have no influence over? Or do you hand that money over to charity instead? Do some good in the world? Does seem a rather puritan response that.

Moaning about horses dying but continuing to promote make-up by brands that kill more animals in product testing.

It may not be the outcome you like but you get what you have paid for.

Sure, just that there are clearly more worthier causes out there than spending your well earned on watching 22 blokes run about...

Yes, i'd say it's different. The poster clearly has a great dislike for Horse Racing, i don't have a great dislike for football. This is a football forum.
