Christ, not this again.
Reminds me of MartinB’s thread last season which had Euclid and Gauss turning in their graves. One of Martin’s key tenets was that all other 23 teams in the league would gain 3 points each match until the end of the season.
One still winces at raucous online celebrations of a top half finish being “guaranteed” about two weeks after it had actually happened.

Top Four now mathematically impossible Looks like we are unlikely to be involved in the play offs this season then, thank goodness no trip to that dump of a national stadium to “look forward” to.

Amazing to think that next season we could be in League two and Luton in the Championship. How times change so quickly in football. Be interesting to see if the promoted teams this season can match our third place total last season.

Fifth place is still on, if Town can turn around a 10 goal deficit and win every game as long as no-one lese plays

I'm pretty sure this time last year, Town went Top mid-week. Negative. This time last year Shrewsbury were second, one point behind Blackburn and a point ahead of Wigan (2 games in hand). The opportunity to go top was spurned in a 1 all draw away at Northampton. Where captain Abu Ogogo was sent off for a clash with the swamp donkey of Northampton O'Toole.

Ah correct double V, I remember that. - The last Ogogo played for Town.
I was thinking of the mid-week game against Fleetwood I think, where Thomas scored.

How many points for safety? 51?

How many points for safety? 51? I wouldn’t want to rely on it but with so many teams down there in the mix that have to play each other and most of them can’t buy a win for love nor money as they are so poor I would think that 50 or even 49 might be fine this year. I just wonder what last years Town team could have achieved this season.
