Not sure Walsall are a good example. They owned Fellows Park, but somehow managed to sell it, and finish up paying a "peppercorn rent" lease on the Bescot.
But I believe the owner is now seeking much more than a peppercorn !!
Yes, allegedly he is!

So was the Gay Meadow. As we are seeing all over the country covenants and other planning regulations mean diddly squat in reality once money gets involved! It's never been easier to get permission for large developments as most councils are broke. Indeed it was. If there is money to be made would it really be that surprising if the club ended up in yet another new stadium at another end of town with the current location redeveloped? Somewhere along the new northern relief road perhaps? You (might have) heard it here first.

I feel zero connection with the new ground.

I feel zero connection with the new ground. It IS us though! We'd either bungle the deal or build a carbon copy of the New Meadow complete with facilities not designed for 6000+ crowds, sub standard PA and portakabins.

Be nice if they could turn a profit though and actually plan it better such as the away fans at the opposite end, better entrace and exits, supporters bar, set of shops/bars around the area of the ground. Could be an interesting development although highly doubt the land price is that high and that low in another area that it would be worth it.

I note that RW's offshore trust Jefreen Holdings has now been dissolved.
Shareholders of STFC:- as at 1/12/2016 Jefreen Holdings - 439,000 shares. RW - 2,000 shares. Total number of £2.50 shares - 850,513. as at 1/12/2017 RW - 601,000 shares. Total number of £2.50 shares - 1,010,513. as at 1/12/2018 RW - 629,067 shares. Total number of £2.50 shares - 1,010,513.
Presumably, RW's present shareholding comes from the shares of Jefreen Holdings, the 2,000 shares already in his possession, the 160,000 £2.50 shares issued to him on the sale of the training ground, plus a further 28,067 purchased between 2017 and 2018 from Terry Allen (20,000) and Bates and Hunt (nominee R.Bailey) (8,067).

I thought that RW owned 26% of the club outright in his own name and Jefreen Holdings ( nominee R Wycherley) held a further 25% to give Roland an overall holding of 51%. Therefore he "controls" the club.

Wychbury Properties( Ellesmere) is indeed closed, but Wychbury Properties LLP is still active with over £2million in assets with his daughter Lisa as co-director. There have been several variants of the "Wychbury" company name over the years. Plus RW has been a director of Cameron Oliver since 2010 and the dormant STFC(2007) Ltd.This company was set up and bought a small piece of land that was used for access to the Lidl site while it was being built. BC advised me(over a cup of coffee at the ground after I had an invitation to pop in after I questioned its existence on B&A) that the company was set up to protect Shrewsbury Town FC from law suits if an individual was knocked down or injured by construction traffic The boy from Ditherington has done well

In my opinion the guy does nothing at all without a view on how it benefits him - it is no coincidence that he sold the club the training ground literally days after the council issued its development plan that said that the land could not be developed in any way in the foreseeable future. I have spoken to him about the club and the club’s finances and this is what shapes my view.

As indeed are the accounts for Wychbury Properties LLP made up to 31st March 2018 which effectively confirm what you have said. beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/OC354782But why have there been several variants of the Wychbury company name over the years? Are they all linked in with property development?

I think that we need an accountant to explain that( Ant are you around ) as I have no idea. I assumed that the "Wychbury" name was an amalgamation of Wycherley and Shrewsbury but was surprised to find that it's also an area near Hagley on the West Mids/Worcestershire border
