Coleman gone back to Huddersfield.
New keeper must be imminent.
Far too many puppy eared filters used on his photos on Instagram for my liking. But good luck to the lad. Not the best but not the worst either.

Was always going to be a tough job replacing Deano. On paper he was a very promising signing. However watching him in the Stoke warm up he genuinely couldn’t be bothered.

I'm just surprised he hasn't gone to Wrexham.

While not brilliant, I thought he was perfectly competent and was surprised that he was not only dropped by Askey, but continued to be overlooked by Coyne and Ricketts. A better keeper than Arnold, who even when performing ok fails to convince - I've seen trees go down quicker than he did for that save in the first half against Stoke.
Hope this paves the way for a keeper who can push and ultimately replace Arnold.

Seems to me we've had two keepers of a standard to match our league position. As has been said before, we'd be happy enough to have either as a back up but it's a position that needs strengthening.
Both have made some excellent saves but neither inspired full confidence. The memory of that excruciating kicking display by Coleman at Walsall will be hard to shift. I think Grant might have knocked their chap out to divert attention and stop the embarrassment. But good luck to him, I hope he realises the potential Huddersfield evidently saw in him.

I thought Coleman was better than Arnold except on penalties, but neither are as good as McGillvery ( probably spelt that wrong) Hopefully with good coaching he will have a future. Good luck to him.

Average league one keeper.
I really don’t rate Arnold, a back up keeper but nothing more.
Leutwiler back from Blackburn would be alright for me.

If it was a choice of the three of them (Arnold, Coleman or Leutweiler), JL gets my vote every time. Especially if he could recapture his pre-Grimsby form.
Good luck to Coleman, but he never came across as a keeper that will go to the top. Unlike a young Jack Butland who visited the NM with Cheltenham, who although he made a mistake for one (if not both Town’s goals), you could see he was quality.

Coleman has probably been the most disappointing of all of Askeys signings. Arrived with high hopes and left with the wrists of a three week old lettuce and those Instagram doggy ears (or were they always there).
I agree the second coming of Leutwiler would be a great choice, one of the few things Hurst did wrong in terms of letting players go.

The game was over for Coleman, in my opinion after a dreadful performance at Oxford. Two crosses across the six yard box which is the keeper’s territory and is first move was to fish the ball out of the net. Then a breakaway one on one where instead of making himself “big”, he flopped tamely over a ball that he could and should have saved.

Leutwiler was never the same player after his horrific injury at Grimsby. If I recall, a fair few on here were more than happy to see him depart.

You're not wrong, ex, he was embarrassingly poor at The Kassam. Fust time for yonks we left before the end of a match. I rang The Samaritans after the game, but they hung up on me because they said I was depressing them.

I, and a few others, were pretty annoyed that we were shipping out Leutwiler for some GK who had played 7 games in League 2 with Grimsby. Turned out to be a great move for us but Leutwiler has always said how much he loves it here. Danny Coyne may mention his name to Ricketts.

I'd certainly be happier with Luetwiler than with Burgoyne, but preferably it would be neither.

What is the cut off time for new signings being eligible to play tomorrow? It used to be 5pm.
It will be a gamble if we have no goalkeeper on the bench tomorrow, although I guess Danny Coyne may still be registered as a player if push comes to shove.

Leutweiler was a great shotstopper for us but was a spectator for crosses and corners. I guess we were spoiled by having Deano but I had a quiet admiration for Craig MacGillivray who always did well for us when called upon and was not treated well by Hurst. McGillivarry was brilliant when Deano was suspended but he lost his place immediately upon his return. He was given games in the Checkatrade until the latter stages when he was again dropped. No wonder he b.....red off to Portsmouth and has played every game. Coleman was disappointing as too often he got to the ball but wasn't strong enough to keep the it out. I actually like Arnold who is strong and commands his box. He's made a lot of very good saves for us including penalties. His save against Stoke low to his right way superb and whoever said on here that he's seen trees go down quicker should visit Specsavers or stop trying to be funny. I'm not aware of any Arnold mistakes and he looks confident and reliable. I'd be happy to see Burgoyne come in as backup.

At the time we had a better keeper in goal.
