This came up due to the current Burton hammering;the last English league side to score 10 or more goals in any competition was Shrewsbury Town v Marine in the FA Cup first round in November 1995 (11-2).

There was a streaker from the away end (climbed the old away terrace fence). The end of season video had an interview with Dean Spink who said “we thought it was Ian Stevens” (reference to him being done for indecent exposure when on holiday!).

Indeed. I believe that's where the famous saying came from : "The penis mightier than the sword".

Whilst they are mentioning Town's remarkable 11-2 win back in 1995 , somebody has dug up a even more stunning fact , apparently the highest ever score in a so called first class game was in 2002 , A.S.Adema of Madagascar won by a quite remarkable 149-0 , apparently just as the game was starting the opponents manager had a row with the ref, and then ordered his team to score own goals as a protest.

I would bet any amount of money that this stat has been broke many many times since town played marine
an English side scoring 10 in any competition
I mean come on, if they mean from the 1st round of the fa cup why dont they say so
double figures in prelims occurs most seasons
