Well, do you think we might be seeing out next manager on the Meadow tomorrow? I've mentioned him on here a few times but nobody has taken the bait. He was in the frame with Hurst but Rochdale wanted mega compo. He fancied the job. How we all feel about Hill? He continues to do a brilliant job at Rochdale, a similar size club to ourselves....no fuss, small budget and crowd base, but done properly with integretity and not a little success. Good well respected coach. An up market John Coleman. I really don't believe we are looking at the likes of Flynn and Ricketts, got to be shoddy paper talk. Keith Hill is a proven lower league coach that commands a lot of respect in the game from both supporters and importantly his players. Perhaps a long shot but I would be over the moon if he were approached again.

Doubt he would be tempted to gamble on what would basically be a sideways move.

Possibly. Another route is appointing someone currently a league one manager. Hill, Clarke at Bristol?? Clubs around us in the league. Anyone who we would like to apply or club ask to speak to?

Hill is the equivalent of Coleman at Accy, no good when he strays away from his comfort zone.
It’s a no from me

Only time he’s managed away from Rochdale he had a 25% win ratio...but that was the championship. Sacked and went back to Rochdale, would he want to leave for a similar sized club where if he didn’t do well in the first 6 months or less the fans would turn on him having shown what they can do with Askey

More or less a job for life at Rochdale. Coleman and Askey were in the same boat. As was Joe Royle at Oldham many years ago. Not always the greatest of ideas to leave.

Negative comments about a manager proven at this level, bags of experience, sides play good football, charismatic and honest in his interview and is hugely passionate.
Rochdale averaging 3.5k finished in top 10 in l1 three seasons in a row whilst we were languishing.
He's a top manager and if he is interested he is definitely one to consider.

I think he's brilliant. But if he was to move I would expect him to goto a slightly larger club than ourselves. Bolton maybe? Then again he's got a very secure job at Dale so would have to be quite an offer to move him.

Just wish whoever the new bloke is every success in hitting the ground running.

Keith Hill was interested enough to have been shortlisted when Hurst got the job, but as I have said several times, the Rochdale board allowed an approach but were talking about a silly compensation package. Logically I would have thought he might still be interested....he has gone as far as he can with Rochdale I would suggest..most of the stuff written above about him is on the ball.....enthusiastic and knowledgable coach, very well respected...but may not be seen as the young thrusting up wardly mobile manager/coach that many on here think we are going to attract. Rochdale play good football, one of the best sides we saw at GM last season, for instance, and importantly the right kind of guy for us......in my opinion anyway! But then again, I have been touting Nigel Pearson, especially with his local family and playing connections. If you don't know already Nigel Pearson married Peter Williams' daughter....the Peter Williams that had the White Horse at Pulverbatch, Just Williams Wine Bar in the old Boots premises in Mardol and the pub and hotel at the bottom of Longden Road.

But Nigel Pearson still holds links with Leicester City, being made manager of OH Leuven a second tier Belgian side , owned by the King Power International Group. He took up his duties September 2017, so I don’t think our vacancy would interest him.
