On the phones today I've got some good news re: the tree of light and our donation.
I spoke to a chap at the Chronicle who was very interested in our donation - and would like to set up a photo opportunity by the tree on Saturday.
Next I spoke to a chap called Mervyn Davis from the rotary club - who set the tree of light up - about our donation and why we are doing it etc.
He was an extremely nice chap and further confirmed that football 'supporters' did not vandalise the tree.
His exact words were 'I can confirm it wasn't done by football supporters. One of my colleagues viewed the CCTV pictures and the incident happened many hours after the football crowds had dispersed.'
He was also extremely grateful that we would be making the donation and also informed me, this I didn't know, that Mr Roland Wycherley and Harry Wilson were both members of the rotary club and supporters of the charity.
I will confirm the photo time/ venue tomorrow - hopefully it'll be around 1-30 / 2pm on Saturday - if you're interested in coming please reply here.
Big pat on the back to all

make sure we spread the message, it was nothing to do with football fans, and this is a gesture of goodwill not guilt!
maybe get the guy from the rotary to say it himself?

As his agent, I can confirm that the media shy Chris Allen, will be making himself available for the photo shoot.

although they printed his name!
Te thing is, it is obviously a ploy to try adn get people to hate football fans, simple as. In the star letter he only alluded tot he new meadow. In the Chronicle he goes through and attacks the new meadow proposal, having introduced his debate with the idea that football fans vandalised a charity christmas tree
Just how low will these people go?
How many lies and slanderous accusations will they make?
How desperate must they be!!!!!!!!! ;D
