Not going to lie , as soon as I get home from a town game , or on the way back from an away game , I look for the Ipswich score, and when they’ve lost again , and hurst is getting pelters - I enjoy every single minute of it . If anybody has got an issue with it , I do not care!

Anyway. Ipswich, Shrewsbury and Macclesfield. 4 wins in 41 games between them.
At least Macc got off the mark yesterday!

To be honest at this point I would welcome Hurst back, we all knew we are a stepping stone for players and managers, so as long as he learned from his mistakes, the 2 Wembley finals, I would be happy to see him back.

It's just typical. If we had got promoted and PH would have stayed you'd be calling for his head now because we probably wouldn't have won a game! I'm sorry PH left, I really am and I'm sorry we didn't go up, but the sooner you all get over it, the better. A small grudge I can understand but there is so much hatred coming from some of you, it's so over the top. I'm sure you wouldn't want it if you moved on to a bigger job that offered you a bunch more cash. I'm sure PH has a family to support and I'm sorry there isn't much loyalty in football anymore but guess what it's not 1953 anymore. Times change. If the admins had any sense they'd have locked this thread because if people from other clubs come and see this then we will be a laughing stock. Filled with petulant, bitter and miserable people over something so ridiculous. Move on.

We can't agree again, Fran.
Chelsea are everything that's wrong with football.

Never mind fran. The 5th ODI against Sri Lanka is on Weds, so that might take your mind off Leeds v Ipswich being played the same day!

Crunch comes for PH after the Leeds game. They then play Millwall A (22nd), Preston H (21st) and Reading A (19th).
They are already bottom of the League.

I just didn't like they way he handled himself towards the end of his tenure. There maybe not much loyalty in football and / or society but it doesn't mean I can't expect some honesty and openness from someone who said he was all of those things. I think it's Karma. You might want to stay away from this thread as I think it's going nowhere and it might give you an ulcer worrying about our petulance, bitterness and misery.

I never want Hurst back at any price and more importantly, neither would the chairman, who he stabbed in the back. His January signings were poor and his luck ran out.
To enjoy his discomfort now would be churlish.
Signed,
I. M. Churlish. I get the frustration on Hursts departure but do you really want to cut off that enormous conk to spite your fizzog below. If Mr Hurst did come back (highly unlikely) then the subsequent recovery would leave most forgetting his controversial departure. Opinions are divided on a scale of brexit on that one.

His whole demeanour changed towards the end of the season. It was even as if he didn't give a toss that we lost in the final to his best mate's Rotherham. I am neither petulant or miserable but I am certainly bitter because he left a nasty taste in my mouth.

If you that article, replaced the name "Paul Hurst" with "John Askey" and Ipswich Town with Shrewsbury Town and then got it printed in the Shropshire Star then that would really put the cat among the pigeons !...one very brave but very honest journalist

Hurst being sacked would be a big kick in the pride for Mr "I've never been sacked". His pride would never support coming back to Shrewsbury with his tail between his legs and zero level of trust from the bosses he behaved badly to.
I think after the sack he would take time out and do a bit of media work.
Wonder how much damage Doig did to his reputation when leaving? He was a big part of our success, could he return?

Hope not. Wouldn't trust him again either. Don't tell me he didn't know he was off to Ipswich. The minute Hurst got another management job, Doig would be off again - they are a double act.

If anybody has got an issue with it , I do not care! And I’m enjoying every minute of it too. We need something to cheer us up at the minute and this does it every Saturday. Can’t see him being there much longer sadly but he will be well rewarded for being a total abject failure, such is modern football sadly.

They lost me after the first line 'Paul Hurst is probably a decent man'!!!!! How someone who has a media qualification managed to get himself into the position of being a ratfink and smelling of something you put on the roses is beyond me. Ego must have over, like the song, he believed he could fly.
