Genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up at Coventry too. Hails from Solihull area - so closer to home - and with the money they’re obviously offering they will likely have proposed a deal that we cannot match.

Good player but he is replaceable.
Thanks for the hard graft last year, good luck in the future.

Good player but he is replaceable. Thanks for the hard graft last year, good luck in the future. Rodman scores goals, creates goals and is good when we do not have the ball...how the hell do we replace him when our manager does not even know what a goalkeeper is.

We have a manager who has spent the last 4 years starting every summer with half a dozen players signed up at most. I think he knows how to sign a player. As for Rodman . Good luck . Bristol rovers the real memory of him and he had a strong season in a good team. Saw a lot in Eisa though in terms of attacking talents that Rodman does not possess.

As much as I like rodman. I couldn't help but think once Eisa played those games at the end of the season that he is the future and we should be looking at him being the starting winger. It's a shame to lose someone of Rodmans experience and defensive nous from the wing.

You have to start wondering what sort of deals we are putting on the table when everyone bar the ever so grateful Arthur and LJL turn them down.

Still not panicking.
We got a great season out of Rodman, and I wish he would have stayed. But can live without him. The thing we talk most about him is was how hard he worked hard and covered his full back. All true and fitted last years team.
But imagine a winger that we talked about beating full backs and creating goals.
So long as we get 2 solid defensive midfield options. (I only hope we play one at a time.) And someone to play in goal we will be fine.

Sensible ones hopefully, I like all of the ones that moved but 2 are injury worries and Rodders isn't likely to improve on last season. I like the new lad Iaisa? With Whalley we would have 2 wingers over 30, not sure i like that.

So, that's Henderson, Brown, Ogogo, Godfrey, Rodman and C.Morris all gone.
Plus MacGillivray, Rowley, Riley, Lowe and Thomas.
And so far we have signed a Macclesfield defender, a Dagenham and Redbridge forward and a Coventry City reserve.
It's got to be worrying.

You have to start wondering what sort of deals we are putting on the table when everyone bar the ever so grateful Arthur and LJL turn them down. In each of the cases where players have opted to move elsewhere they were offered improved terms and two year deals. As the article on the club website today says. Our players who are available due to having reached the end of their contracts will be in demand with plenty of interest elsewhere. This is the effect of coming off the back of an excellent and high profile season at a club with a relatively low budget.

If Abo keeps showing the promise of last season, Alex wouldn't be in the team as fust choice anyway. I'm not bothered about him to be honest. Good chance to bring some fresh young blood.
In Askey we trust.

No more worrying than the players we signed last summer from similar clubs, Chesterfield, Gateshead etc, give them a chance. I think the comment about hysteria that someone else made earlier in the thread is spot on.

And another thing. If Rodman had taken up the 2 year contract, we'd have a 34 year old hobbling down the wing the season after next, as well as Brown, (31) and Ogogo, (31).

Not panicking just yet, but am just making a mental note on where the lifeboats are located on HMS Shrewsbury Town
Still time to put a team together but can’t be anything but disappointed we haven’t been able to put deals on the table that would have kept Brown, Abu and Rodman here. All three are good solid players and while not irreplaceable and not world beaters it does leave me wondering what we are offering contract wise, as that might well impact on our ability to bring new faces in
Perhaps more worrying is what it says about our ability to keep other players like Nolan and Toto - other sides must be seeing us fail to keep players we offer contracts to and wondering if a speculative offer for these players might pay off too

Well we now need 2 goalkeepers, 2 midfielders, 1 winger minimum to replace Deano, Craig McG, Ogogo, Godfrey, Rodman.
