What a great day for world peace, the man has done so much today that the American last 6 presidents of the usa could only dream of doing. Surely the Don should get a Noble peace prize now.Lets give him a red carpet trip to the uk,Japan and Guam. I hope he keeps up the good work and sort out Iran next so he can really go down in history as one of the greatest American presidents.

I don't think I've enough time to type out a suitable reply. Where does one start? It would take many hours.

Not biting, thanks, especially as you can't spell "Nobel".

Heavens I thought it was a new signing or a rumour of one at the very least! Poor Judd Trump of snooker fame is sick to death of being asked whether he's some distant relative.

Yeah. Regan was in The Sweeney.
Oh, and Regan also played as a striker for Shrewsbury in the 1960s. I believe he had the nickname 'handbags' for some reason.

Trump by name and trump by nature. As: "In British slang,“to trump” (intransitive verb) means to expel gas through the anus — often in a highly audible way"

At present all that Trump has achieved is words. Trump only does things for himself and no one else.

It was one summit but nevertheless a summit and that in itself is progress. I see nothing wrong with Trump making concessions at this early stage of it means it gains good will and will make things easier in the future. Better that than sabre rattling and trading insults at each other. It's progress but it's far from over. I mean why is someone looking to the awful human rights abuses under the North Korea regime (linked above)? What is the point of that in looking to criticize Trump or the summit or both? That we shouldn't meet with them at all? That that is a hard line drawn now and all these human rights abuses must be checked before more progress can be made? That's just not going to happen, Trump or no Trump. This was always going to be a very long drawn out process (that still may go tits up at any time). It's very much slowly, slowly, catchy monkey.
It's clear that Trump isn't ever going to get a fair chance with some and that's fair enough but I think you have to see things as they are; no doubt he would have been criticized if he had taken too hard a line and would have resulted in a continuation of tensions between the two, now he seems to be being criticized for being too soft with them. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. With plenty he is never going to get it right.
It's only the first step. So who knows, maybe the start of some real meaningful progress. Could peter out to the grand sum of nothing. Could easily see the pair of them throwing their toys out of the pram as early as next week. I guess we have to wait and see...

Hand on heart, if this results in the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula I will be the first to congratulate trump. So far though it seems to me that all he has done is meet someone and not p**s them off, hardly cause for a nobel prize, and get Kim to sign a deal of which we know very very little.

It's not a deal, it's a few nebulous statements. Good analysis from pro-engagement Andrei Lankov here: www.nknews.org/2018/06/was-that-it-the-remarkably-nebulous-singapore-agreement/?c=1528860507823

So far though it seems to me that all he has done is meet someone and not p**s them off, hardly cause for a nobel prize, and get Kim to sign a deal of which we know very very little. As I understand it, Kim "won" this exchange. He gave up nothing that hadn't already been agreed in his talks with South Korea but he got Trump to agree unilaterally to end joint military exercises with South Korea. Not only did his allies, the South Koreans, not have any warning of this but neither did the Pentagon! Sends out a good message to Iran. You're not yet a nuclear power, so we'll break our agreement with you that was designed to stop you becoming one, restore sanctions and declare you our enemy. Meanwhile, NK is already a nuclear power so it gets an agreement and apparently becomes a friend of sorts. It would be entirely understandable if Iran now went for broke on making itself a nuclear power, as that seems to attract more positive attention from Trump. And of course all of this ignores the murderous reality of North Korea; its death camps, its subjugation and starvation of its own people, its state-backed involvement in international cyber crime. Check the summary of the UN's recent report and decide whether you think it's really an "honour", to deal with such a regime, as Trump said. If Obama had done this deal, Trumpers would be outraged - they slated him for even suggesting talking to perceived enemies. The hypocrisy is breathtaking. But that's history of course and history doesn't exist for Trumpers - deny everything, lie, it doesn't matter, enough of the people can be spoon fed anything. "Peace in our time", eh? Except there was no friggin' war going on, of course. Everything about this "conflict", the supposed threat from North Korea and now this agreement all looks to have been manufactured and stage managed. But well done Trump - you've turned Kim from a figure of mockery and ridicule into a player on the world stage - and he's played you and your idiot followers very well.
