First of all I would like to say that the majority of us accept we were cr@p. Your team pretty much just bullied ours, 25+ fouls or something before the first booking? Blatant penalty waved off? Elbow ignored for a red? Basically it was a cr@p game of football and the team that was a bit less cr@p won. I'll be straight up I am bitter. All season when I've seen Blackburn and Wigan fans mock you about bottling it I've felt bad for you and thought they came across a bit weird. You're a small club with limited resources challenging two big clubs with a lot of money how can anyone go against an underdog story? However after today though I can honestly say I'm glad you bottled it and hope you do so at Wembley as well. That whole section of your fans on the right hand side corner (facing away from away end) are creatures and I assume probably won't be at another game in their life if you fail to go up. Not saying all Charlton fans are innocent cause we do have some plebs but for how little your fan base is I am amazed at the c*** to non c*** ratio. On the drive back a group of about 30 of your inbred fans who all looked 30+ and had a combined weight of at least 700 stone were starting on 4 young lads minding their own business on the way back to the car? Proper cowards. This was outside the Ugly Pig, relevant you know cause that's what 99% of your scummy little fans look like. And then when I'm in traffic trying to get out your fans are all around my car calling these lads scum despite goading them and punching them? Genuinely still can't believe how classless your s**t little club is. Obviously none of you said much to me cause I have a bit of facial hair and look over 21. Basically, I hope you get slaughtered at Wembley, then your manager gets swooped up, your best players get raided, your scummy little Day trippers go back to supporting Man U or whoever else they usually watch down the little ugly pig pub with their little ugly pig friends and then who knows depending on the fixtures and if all what I hope happens, happens we get the chance to send you down. s**te little club Good luck for next season. Though think you need to put your glasses on!!! Or did you watch a different game?

At the end of the day the better side won over the two legs, can’t deny that, 1-0 down and we didn’t have a meaningful shot in the whole game, yes we should have had a penalty and yes Morris should have been sent off but that’s all if buts and maybes.
As for the trouble a few run on and one got right to us before swinging a few punches which caused a reaction and people stormed forward, the stewards tried opening to gate and police tried to shut it which caused it to collapse, this is turn meant the police panicked and used the pepper spray. As for outside again the bloke in orange and the 5 or so young kids started giving it the big one and when the Charlton lot ran at them a few scarpered and left there few other mates to take a hiding. The police were useless and couldn’t control anything that went on.
Either way good luck at Wembley.

Would you say the police had no control of the situation. ? If we do go up then there will be some very high profile games gere

Maybe you wouldn’t have had such a good view of it if you had remained in/by your seat like the vast majority of Charlton fans did. It was actually only a small number that gathered in the corner intent on causing trouble, indeed the same could be said for the small number of Town fans. As for Morris I still think it should have been a free kick to us for obstruction when he could have been through on goal.

A more accurate summary of the game(s) than their manager came up with. Yes, we know we have our share of knuckle draggers and we know where they are located in the ground and it will be interesting to see if they relocate to the safe standing area next season, or if they would prefer to remain close to the away fans. Finally,we have gone toe to toe with another couple of former Premier League clubs throughout the season and although they finished above us (eventually), we earned their respect. The only derisory swipes about our "s**tty little club", came from fans of a club who must be even more s**tty, judging by the distance that they finished behind us.

I did stay in my seat about 10 rows back from that corner with my younger brother and nephew, that’s why I had a good view of it. And the same can be said for outside I was walking back to my car which was in the garden centre when the trouble erupted, As for the comment above I would say there weren’t enough police or stewards on duty for the magnitude of the game and the likes of Stoke, Millwall, West Brom etc will bring a lot more fans that will be milling shot tickets or no tickets than what Charlton did, overall apart from that and the result I had a good day, nice pubs and food in the town. Not sure about the obstruction part fella, to swing an elbow is excessive obstruction or not, very lucky to stay on the pitch and retrospective action could still be taken

The thing with Bowyer is he is new to it all and will learn with experience of how to conduct post match press conferences, I don’t think you guys are a s**tty little club l, overachieved yes but every league has a team that does that each season, we don’t have the fire power which Sunday proved.

Retrospective action is unlikely as the referee saw the incident and awarded a free kick, as he deemed that was all that was necessary. If you want an example of a swinging elbow, you should have seen fatboy Rhead deliberately taking out our keeper in the first ten minutes at Wembley. Deano lay motionless on the pitch and my 10 year old granddaughter thought that he was dead.

Still don’t see much wrong with it apart from obstruction to be fair though the alleged elbow was on the blind side for both times. But as said if you want to see a proper assault watch about 12 minutes in to our game v Lincoln in the Checatrade final.

These replies have been fantastic, just further proof of the pond life that the Shrewsbury fan base seems to have. Again, I don't actually think we are any good anymore, loads of players overpaid and overrated. Your players wanted it more and showed more footballing know how over the two legs. The fact remains though that your players were being dirty and got away with it. I don't get all the 'haha we are rough' posts? It's not a good thing, if you do go up you won't stand a chance with such a s**thouse football display like that. Just don't think for a second I'm delusional enough that I think we deserved anything, we didn't. It's the manner in how your fans acted after scoring that's left a bitter taste. Running on the pitch at full time fair game, running on when there's half hour to go is pathetic. It disrupted the game and ultimately was the reason for all the trouble. As for judging a whole towns fan base I am just saying it how I saw it, that's my first trip to Shrewsbury and at least 90% of Shrewsbury fans I encountered after the game were scummy, you lacked class and as a result made yourselves look like an ugly set of fans outside the ugly pig. I haven't made the story up about 30+ fat ugly overweight men attempting to and some actually attacking younger lads minding their own business on their way out of the car park, that actually happened. Your fans were also trying to peer into my car and were all standing around it, don't remember this happening at any other away game. The comment about looking over 21 and facial hair wasn't serious you half wit, it was to imply your fans were looking for trouble with those who didn't want it. If you really want to spend your weekends scr@pping then drop a few stones and knock yourselves out in a fighting gym. Not much else to say really, the majority of your posts sum you up. I stated straight away I was bitter as I thought you were a decent set of fans but it turns out you're not. I don't remember bothering to express myself on the other many clubs that beat us this seasons forums. The result I didn't care about, to make it clear one more time it was the lack of class from your fans, you started the trouble on the pitch and you carried on outside instead of celebrating a good season. So for that again I wish nothing but misery at Wembley and hope you get raided. Cheerio
I'm sorry to hear you had a bad time. I thought the Charlton fans were pure class - especially the ones who tried to storm a bus full of pensioners (literally) about 20 minutes after the end of the game. I guess when you find beer at £3.50 instead of £6.50 you have a bit of trouble handling it.
Apparently the supporters bus I travel on got bottled by Charlton fans after the game & they tried to get on the bus through the emergency exit. The police sensibly moved the coaches out of the ground ( our coach is a family orientated group ) before it escalated. Unfortunately for me & the nipper & few others we had to find alternative ways home & had to walk through the Charlton fans on our way out as they tried to cause trouble. Not much fun but at least we got to walk with a bunch of celebrating Town fans which made my kids day. Still would say the majority of Charlton fans were superb both Home & away in all 4 games this season so we won't let a few minor thugs ruin what was a special day. COYB.
