I thought the Charlton fans got behind their team well. If they'd scored and come on the pitch 19 would have reacted exactly the same. There's a few grumpy posts on their forum but I honestly thought their players were diving all over the place for the first twenty minutes. It was only when the ref realised they were going down like they'd been shot every time that he started to ignore them. the one incident that annoyed me was Beckles tackled a player it was there number 19 and yes it looked a foul but no 19 was still on his feet he he then threw himself backwards like he had been poleaxed, i was so stunned i asked the fan by me did he see it and he said yes. what made it worse was the lino was only a few yards away and did nothing. charlton no 6 and 19 were two players who seemed to be the ones who pestered the ref the most. i thought there no 14 was there best player and caused us a lot of problems.

First of all I would like to say that the majority of us accept we were cr@p. Your team pretty much just bullied ours, 25+ fouls or something before the first booking? Blatant penalty waved off? Elbow ignored for a red? Basically it was a cr@p game of football and the team that was a bit less cr@p won. I'll be straight up I am bitter. All season when I've seen Blackburn and Wigan fans mock you about bottling it I've felt bad for you and thought they came across a bit weird. You're a small club with limited resources challenging two big clubs with a lot of money how can anyone go against an underdog story? However after today though I can honestly say I'm glad you bottled it and hope you do so at Wembley as well. That whole section of your fans on the right hand side corner (facing away from away end) are creatures and I assume probably won't be at another game in their life if you fail to go up. Not saying all Charlton fans are innocent cause we do have some plebs but for how little your fan base is I am amazed at the c*** to non c*** ratio. On the drive back a group of about 30 of your inbred fans who all looked 30+ and had a combined weight of at least 700 stone were starting on 4 young lads minding their own business on the way back to the car? Proper cowards. This was outside the Ugly Pig, relevant you know cause that's what 99% of your scummy little fans look like. And then when I'm in traffic trying to get out your fans are all around my car calling these lads scum despite goading them and punching them? Genuinely still can't believe how classless your s**t little club is. Obviously none of you said much to me cause I have a bit of facial hair and look over 21. Basically, I hope you get slaughtered at Wembley, then your manager gets swooped up, your best players get raided, your scummy little Day trippers go back to supporting Man U or whoever else they usually watch down the little ugly pig pub with their little ugly pig friends and then who knows depending on the fixtures and if all what I hope happens, happens we get the chance to send you down. s**te little club Taking one incident to justify condemning every Shrewsbury fan and the club in such a nasty, vindictive way is small minded. In fact your post is so bilious and small minded I don't think you can be trusted to be telling the truth about that incident. Do one.

It was only when the ref realised they were going down like they'd been shot every time that he started to ignore them. I think the free kick count was something like 23 - 8 in their favour. Really, three to one? I don't think so. Unfortunately, we had a ref who was poor where Thursday's ref was excellent. Too many of our refs instinctively give a free kick to whichever player goes to ground when two players come together and Charlton sought to exploit that from the start. The ref was far too lenient with them. Ironic that I'm criticising the ref who missed a probable penalty for them and praising the ref who missed an equally valid penalty shout for us! That's football, eh, Lee Bowyer?

I don't think Charlton were that bad, we just didn't let them play and more credit should be given to us for beating a pretty good team, let's not forget this team beat us and a Blackburn team that were trying to win the league only a few weeks ago. Playing them down just devalues what our lads have just done.

They pushed and nearly crushed the police againist the crash doors. Police don't tend to muck around and ask at that point and I don't blame them. Think charlton fans have a false image of themselves but still, if they consider themselves to be another Millwall what do you expect.
Bored of these teams now. Poor classless managers with chips on their shoulder. Fans who think cos they've been in the Championship they're the biggest team in League One and seem to have attendants measuring competitions every week. Meaningless when you think of some teams in the conference with big pulls too.

You're in League One for a reason. Plenty of "big clubs" are scattered through the leagues like spent confetti.

With no Championship games on yesterday I do wonder if some of the more disruptive element of London and West Midlands knuckle draggers came to the match to cause trouble. Did seem a lot of middle aged men I’d never seen at matches before being antagonistic to each other rather than watching the football
The way some in the Charlton end ran a long way to join in the confrontation at the front of the stand seemed pre planned - you don’t run that far just because the opposition score
Think the sunny day and late kick off didn’t help either. Really folks if having more than one beer turns you into a loon please stay away from matches in the future. Some of the scenes yesterday were embarrassing

On first viewing It is noticeable that there is a lack of colours displayed by those who rushed to the front ( Charlton) as well as those who ran into the pitch (Town).

And you lot where having a go at me!!
If this makes you all feel better, we celebrated promotion at the Valley and weren't exactly welcomed and got lots of abuse from this lot. Who celebrated beating a weakened team who'd just won promotion like it was a European Cup final.
Just be sporting and wish the better team well. Which they were, coming from a neutral.

These replies have been fantastic, just further proof of the pond life that the Shrewsbury fan base seems to have.
Again, I don't actually think we are any good anymore, loads of players overpaid and overrated. Your players wanted it more and showed more footballing know how over the two legs. The fact remains though that your players were being dirty and got away with it. I don't get all the 'haha we are rough' posts? It's not a good thing, if you do go up you won't stand a chance with such a s**thouse football display like that. Just don't think for a second I'm delusional enough that I think we deserved anything, we didn't. It's the manner in how your fans acted after scoring that's left a bitter taste. Running on the pitch at full time fair game, running on when there's half hour to go is pathetic. It disrupted the game and ultimately was the reason for all the trouble.
As for judging a whole towns fan base I am just saying it how I saw it, that's my first trip to Shrewsbury and at least 90% of Shrewsbury fans I encountered after the game were scummy, you lacked class and as a result made yourselves look like an ugly set of fans outside the ugly pig. I haven't made the story up about 30+ fat ugly overweight men attempting to and some actually attacking younger lads minding their own business on their way out of the car park, that actually happened. Your fans were also trying to peer into my car and were all standing around it, don't remember this happening at any other away game. The comment about looking over 21 and facial hair wasn't serious you half wit, it was to imply your fans were looking for trouble with those who didn't want it. If you really want to spend your weekends scr@pping then drop a few stones and knock yourselves out in a fighting gym.
Not much else to say really, the majority of your posts sum you up. I stated straight away I was bitter as I thought you were a decent set of fans but it turns out you're not. I don't remember bothering to express myself on the other many clubs that beat us this seasons forums. The result I didn't care about, to make it clear one more time it was the lack of class from your fans, you started the trouble on the pitch and you carried on outside instead of celebrating a good season. So for that again I wish nothing but misery at Wembley and hope you get raided. Cheerio

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad time. I thought the Charlton fans were pure class - especially the ones who tried to storm a bus full of pensioners (literally) about 20 minutes after the end of the game. I guess when you find beer at £3.50 instead of £6.50 you have a bit of trouble handling it.

I just think it is funny that if a Charlton fan is so angry and bitter why are they coming on a Shrewsbury messageboard full of Wembley ticket details and excited supporters to moan about it.

So for that again I wish nothing but misery at Wembley and hope you get raided. Cheerio That told us. It was like a bollocking from my mother when I was 12. In all seriousness, a warm, late afternoon with no doubt a lot of ale consumed contributed to the behaviour of both fans, many of which just jump on the glory train and are only seen once or twice a season. A goal for any of the two sides would've resulted in similar behaviour in the stadium and the rush to the front from both sides would certainly have lit the touchpaper for events later. However, in the Charles Darwin beforehand, it was very busy and all good-natured. After the game, most Charlton fans had left, although there was still some about, enjoying the 70's disco! I suspect it was all good-natured at the Fanzone too? As far as I'm concerned there will always be people at football, on occasions like this, who just want to cause trouble. The result is either a split lip, blackened eye, ripped clothing or a spell in A & E (which could probably do without it), on Saturday it was also pepper-sprayed eyes. Let's add to that a fine and a ban and maybe frightening the life out of some poor kids and OAP's. Hardly seems worth it to me, but hey-ho, that's humans who can't handle alcohol for you!

And then when I'm in traffic trying to get out your fans are all around my car calling these lads scum despite goading them and punching them? Genuinely still can't believe how classless your s**t little club is. Obviously none of you said much to me cause I have a bit of facial hair and look over 21. Basically, I hope you get slaughtered at Wembley, then your manager gets swooped up, your best players get raided, your scummy little Day trippers go back to supporting Man U or whoever else they usually watch down the little ugly pig pub with their little ugly pig friends and then who knows depending on the fixtures and if all what I hope happens, happens we get the chance to send you down. s**te little club Aww such a bad loser .. does that mean you will be supporting palace next season or Millwall.

Cheerio Do stop it now. You are making yourself look like another prize pr I ck like your manager. I just hope you don’t have to make a return journey to our ground next season, we can actually do something about it still but you can’t can you. 😜

that's my first trip to Shrewsbury The result I didn't care about a) Don't come back. b) No, of course you didn't. You travelled up to Shropshire to show how much you didn't care about the result. Very much enjoying your rapier wit and the elegant style with which you call us "classless", by the way. Been seeing "gammon" all over social media this weekend. And now here you are.

Have a look at this year's disciplinary table. You are the sixth dirtiest team in the league. We are the seventeenth dirtiest team in the league. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-one/fairnesstabelle/wettbewerb/GB3We aren't rough, we're just better than you. This is why you lost, and thus presumably also why you're on here acting like a baby.

Cheerio Care to comment on the cowardly group of Charlton ‘fans’ who jumped and assaulted the two motorbike cops sitting outside the ground at FT? Or the group who attacked a minibus of Town fans in the car park then?
