I thought the ref was superb myself. He let the game flow nicely, but rightly got his cards out when required.

"He [Morris] shouldn't have been on the pitch in my opinion, I dont want to see players sent off, I want to see the game 11 v 11..."
Wait what?

Once a brainless thug, always a brainless thug!
Let’s ram these words down his throat on Sunday.

Don’t get bowyer’s beef.
Morris’ foot was high and their centre back ran into it. Rodman kicked his foot high towards the opponents head. Different situations where one merits a yellow card and the other doesn’t.

Bowyer's showing his inexperience saying that. There was never a red card in anything that happened all night. The ref was excellent. Did he say anything about our penalty shout.......?

Music to my ears and the words of an inexperienced manager as venceremos says.
Instead of any critical analysis as to what went wrong tactically you carry on as you are son! No problem with me.
As an aside the referee was exceptional tonight. Can’t recall one bad decision.
Back in south west London after a couple of celebratory beers bursting with pride.
But the job is not done yet.

Is he still mates with Jonathon Woodgate,he ex of Real Madrid? Thugs still hang do they?
Their Premiers**te loanees down the left did look a bit tricky, but tiny too!

Sour grapes, the referee was the best I've seen this season.
Is it my imagination or does he sound half cut?

Great performance from Salop last night. Still a long way to go in this one though - Charlton did have some chances and our goal was a wonderstrike. Don't get me wrong we deserve to be ahead but the margins between the teams are very tight.

The referee was very lenient, their centre half pulling down Morris on the half way and not getting a booking was ridiculous. And there were a few high feet challenges in the game which other refs would have pulled cards out for.
As for time wasting, we must have picked that up from them from the home game a few weeks back.

Classless, ungracious, petulant and blinkered.

I bet he didn't mention our penalty shout, or the countless times they cynically fouled us when we was countering without being punished.

If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
it is understandable with so much resting on the game ,he will feel strongly and pherhaps whilst ungracious he wont to try " us against an unfair world to motivate his team" either way pherhaps he should read IF by Rudyard Kipling

As has been said, inexperience shown, and not for the first time. Bowyer was out thought and his team out played last night. Another comment he made, picked up by sky, was his Charlton team would not lose the tie over two legs. Well the pressure is well and truly on now my friend. Feeling so proud this morning, this team truly is magnificent. I love so many aspects of it. We have a well spoken manger and captain in hurst and Sadler who represent our club in a fine way. Rodman also speaks a lot of sense. The relationship between the players is so evident too, especially Nolan and Whalley. Shaun looked pleased as punch after nolo’s goal. And then the hard working ethic of the whole team, Ben Godfrey, Toto, Beckles, Bolton etc.. Words don’t quite sum up how I feel about this club at the moment. Not to get to carried away. 90minutes left. We’re in a great position, so hopefully we can finish the tie..

If ever a weasel needed to be cast in a west end production Bowyer would be a shoe in. What a saving on make up they would make. Horrible individual.

In my opinion in an age of expensive designer fashion it is refreshing to see Lee Bowyer still making full use of his secondary school uniform.

Don't have any complaints for the yellow Morris did pick up but not sure what Bowyer is looking for here though? Is this the one when the ball was played up to Morris fairly high and he was looking to bring it down but their lad stooped and got his head in there first? I mean Morris had his back to their lad, he only had eyes for the ball, he was simply looking to bring it down. There was no intention other than to get the ball under control. It was not a booking and the ref saw it for what it was and got it spot on. Bowyer's reaching there big time.
By the by, other than that a fair appraisal of the game I'd say.

Bowyer was a decent player, but he is a thug. Also obviously a bad loser, hopefully his comments will encourage the team to finish the job.

Bowyer spouting absolute dosh. His comments about them being better than us are nothing other than blind arrogance. Think the table says otherwise, 16 points difference idiot.

Just checked and he’s only the caretaker manager. He gave up a carp farm in France to take the Post. Well he certainly knows how to carp on about things or you could move the a and r around! He is obviously ‘’angling’’ for the job!!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Doesn’t come across well when he gets so irate about that that, really clutching at straws - my favourite bit was “I don’t want to see players sent off, I want to see 11 v 11. You just have to be consistent”.
Seemed to summarise alright until he started chatting about that (and no way were they scoring 3 in the first 10 minutes, but that’s the expected exaggeration we all do) but definitely do sense he might be regretting some of his fairly carefree comments from before the game about his side’s chances.

Funny, you’d expect a player who’s 2nd to Gareth ‘most appearances for an outfielder in the premier league’ Barry would have an extensive knowledge of yellow and red cards.

I can understand him saying he has the better team, in the sense that I can imagine Hurst might say something similar had we lost the first leg at home and he needed to rally his team for the return.
But the stuff about Morris is just tosh.
