Word "Legend" is over used in football. Totally applies to Ken though. RIP

I'm so sorry to hear that. Ken was my all time favourite goalkeeper. I'm still not sure how we managed to get him from Manchester City, he was sheer class. I've got so many memories of him, and thoroughly enjoyed my chats with him.
But most importantly at this time, our sincere condolences to his family. Very many of us held Ken in the highest regard.
All our love,
John and Chris. xx

A proper legend of Shrewsbury Town FC, favourite 'Ken' moment was him having a "quiet" word with Mansfield's Terry Eccles in the back of the net at the Wakeman End in 1974/75 after he had attempted some sort of push on Ken.
Part of the era (1971 onwards) that I grew up in from the age of 7 watching STFC with my Dad, Grandad & Uncle, wonderful times.
Very sad news and condolences to his Family

John and Chris. xx I too echo the above. He was our number 1 when I first started watching the Town in 1973. I feel honoured that I got to see him play so many times for us throughout his time at the GM. He was a lovely man, it's a very sad day for us all. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family at this sad time. RIP Ken

Almost single handedly kept us in games at the start of the 78-79 until he got injured. A true gentleman who still called Graham Turner "boss" when the latter returned. RIP

Sad to hear this. Still my pick of Town’s keepers - so safe and assured. It was great to know that he retained his enthusiasm and association with the club. Such a loss.

What a terrible couple of days, the Joe Riley news and now this.
Used to drink with Ken down the Reabrook Club years ago. Lovely fella, always with a good tale to tell and with excellent insight about the Club.
Like others, he was my first Town 'keeper.
Rest easy big man.

Once saw him away at Mansfield, about to take the goal kick but instead ran to the edge of the box, defender it instead and passed it to him outside the box, he tapped the ball inside the box, picked it up and launched it upfield.
Next day at school, I tried the same, told my keeper to run to the edge of the box, I the goal kick, passed it to him..except my keeper picked it up outside the box!
thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP Ken.
