Met up with a pretty ugly lot of Rovers supporters this evening in Whitchurch. We were back in Whitchurch by around 6 having come back on the North Shropshire coach. Walking down Doddington I was passed by a coach that stopped at the bottom of Watergate......and out rolled forty or so Rovers fans, most of which were already completely out of their heads and had no idea where they were. The doorway to Argos got a good drenching......I still had my scarf on..... I didn't attempt to hide my colours and kept walking through the throng, and no one even noticed, and I walked up to the Bull Ring. A couple of guys asked me where the nearest pie shop was and a good many piled into Last Orders, which was full already of the plastic Liverpool and United supporters. There was some aggression outside the pub at the bottom of Watergate, a couple of guys were coming on heavy with a couple female smokers in the street, but other than the urinating in the doorway and making a lot of noise and chanting...not sure what they were saying, maybe something like 'where are all the pies'...there didn't appear to be any problems...anyway....I really don't understand how these people can get so tanked up at a game, unless they have it on the coaches..... I don't drink anything at the games......I stopped many years ago having missed a few vital goals whilst standing against the Corugated iron sheeting that was the toilets on the Riverside......but what enjoyment can these guys get from coming all the way over here, getting drunk, not really having an interest in what's happening on the field, having to get off the coaches and peeing in doorways? Yuck. Great day out. I fully appreciate the regulation regarding drinking at games, if the few can't handle it or act responsibly, we all suffer as a consequence.

Unfortunately, I have seen some Town Supporters in exactly the same inebriated state at away games.
Why they just don't stay in the pub all day I've no idea, as their interest in the game was at best minimal.

I'd be more worried about the amount wearing skinny jeans and not wearing socks than any drunken antics. What is that all about?

Met a group of Blackburn supporters as they go off one of the coaches on the Meadow car park an hour before kick off. They asked for directions to the town centre. Told them they wouldn't have time to get there and back before the game started and they explained they weren't interested in the match. The games are a cover story for the wives as they visit different towns for a day out and no doubt a drink or two. They were even wearing Backburn scarves. Things have gone downhill since the premiership days.

Plenty of Blackburn fans at the Brooklands before the match, very civilised and friendly ... very pleasant atmosphere...
After the game no police presence walking back and no confrontations or even banter unlike the Wigan rabble who were bugging it up with various scuffles and arrests...
Id go as far as to say class supporters without any 'big club' attitude....
Worst part of the OP's experience must have been arriving back in Whitchurch 😫
