True but at the end of the day they are chasing that last play off place and wants to encourage a big away crowd with Bury at home there last game of the season.
Still a nice gesture though.

How come they are allowed to alter the ticket prices for our ground? Do the club pay us for them and then offer them cheap to their fans?

In my opinion chocolate based incentives are far better than a cash discount and free travel.

lol, well Roland, follow that!! Not a chance.... It does pose the question though when you see Bury and Southend making offers to increase the support for a vital game at the business end of the season and we don't do anything. As a Season ticket holder I would be quite happy for prices to be slashed in a one off must win game to increase our support.

Should be a decent crowd Saturday then. Southend sell out at 1500 and hopefully we can get 5500 home fans at least, meaning 7000+

Southend adding to their £15.7 million debt Obviously we don't want to be the next Chester or Hereford so being financially secure is great, but when you see some clubs pretty much taking the p**s to achieve success it makes you wonder why we bother spending within our means. Southend and Bolton for example are riddled with debt, yet they pay the like of Simon Cox, Anton Ferdinand, Fortune, Wheater, Pratley, Le Fondre and Madine. While they're paying players with money they don't have to gain promotion, we're struggling down at the bottom to survive yet were sound financially. I'd hate to see us start throwing money around which we don't have to risk the future of the club but it's frustrating to see other clubs benefiting regardless of obscene debts.

Still a nice gesture though. at the end of the day we are chasing something equally as big survival and new punters to pay the higher price for the now ended early bird season ticket offer but... no gesture from us another opportunity missed

I'm absolutely stunned that any Town fan doesn't think that this isn't an important game for us.
It's an excellent gesture from Southend and obviously the game means something to them.
Unlike us it seems.

We don't want to encourage excessive amounts of riff-raff into the ground!!
But seriously, the club should be doing everything to get the place full as this is the most important game of the season as it stands.
