Hi guys,
Could anyone let me know which town centre pubs welcome large groups of away fans? We will be swelling Shrews coffers with a travelling and vociferous red army of around 1200. Cheers

Think we'll give that one a swerve. Who would be daft enough to go toe to toe with the notorious EBF!

Headington Utd = Forever in Our shadow
The poster Czarcasm deleted his original Rock and Fountain suggestion.

There's winning battles and then there's winning wars.
Now back to the original question. Any pubs large enough to accommodate our collosal Away following? Landlords welcome to chip in. Last time The Wheatsheaf over the bridge invited us on thetownend.com forum to visit his gaffe. Great welcome but I believe it's changed hands. Few of us went to The Peach Tree. Top pub near your old ground.

There won't be any Police there, it's only a 15 minute train journey away and the locals are sure to give you a warm welcome. The station is in the centre of town and you'll find an excellent Wetherspoons to serve you a good breakfast. The Raven is ultra-cheap and if you like real ale The Pheasant has its own micro-brewery. All the pubs are close together, so you could basically populate all those and make them you're own for the afternoon. In fact, there's no need to come to Shrewsbury at all!

Cheers Champagne, just hope us law abiding Swindonians don't get tasered in Telford a la Dalian Atkinson. 1000 tickets shifted so far so the 1200 estimate is very viable.

Excellent advice Champers as I'm sure our friends from Wiltshire will find Telford a real home from home but you forgot to tell them about the local attrations there such as the Caravan Exhibition,Heather Farm and Jeremy Kyle Storeroom.Just wondering whether they will bring their own referee (Malone).

Do the Brooklands not allow away fans anymore ? For those from The Pig on the Hill(Swine-don) it is similar to the Merlin (but with a bigger garden). Who's landlady hails from Meole Brace I am told

In my opinion about 800 Swindon fans have been delayed on the M5.
