Let's hope you can do an Aldershot, Wimbledon or Chester and get back to at least the 5th tier if not the League.
Darlington are showing signs of recovery too.

Love non league tables where you usually have 2 teams murdering the league with 100+ points and often a few teams just hitting double figures

I see Nile Ranger is named in Story Number 5 of the 'Most Popular' stories listed on the right of the Darlington article. This story tells of yet another Sunderland player, Cabral, in trouble with the courts.

It's an achievement alright. Hopefully their supporters will have added some humility along the way also, easily the most deluded and arrogant bunch of lower league fans I have encountered across the years

But, point taken. As a resident of Hereford i've be on the end of "banter" from people who 3 years ago would only use Edgar St for parking...........

However credit where it's due, fantastic to reform and to achieve promotion at the first attempt. They also appear to have gained some humility and, having regularly read the Save Edgar Street forum thoughout the season, seem to have really enjoyed the experience

Well done them, and lets not overlook the fact that it wasn't just an FA Cup result that made the Club, they did actually make Division Two status BEFORE Town did.

Are the new club going to repay any of the outstanding debt their previous club left?
Same Fans, same ground same name (almost)

I'm talking about fans supporting the same team revelling in the glory of success yet forgeting the misery their team caused to many local tradesman.... Oh and I believe Sir Phillip Green is doing something about BHS

Oh and I believe Sir Phillip Green is doing something about BHS Their team didn't cause misery to local tradespeople, the old club and its previous owners did. I have no sympathy for clubs that go bust through poor management (ie probably all of those that do) but I don't think the people resurrecting a club name have any moral obligation for what went before (assuming they weren't involved in that of course).

Good luck to them. They certainly don't have a monopoly on foul mouthed, yobbish fans. Plenty of those closer to home as witnessed on Tuesday night at Walsall.

Think you'll find the final owners of HUFC were a group of shady cockney land grabbers who were running the club into the ground in order to flog the ground for redevelopment. Before that they were run by a local businessman who's dealings look VERY moronic and a little bit murky in hindsight. His first blunder was to abandon the GT policy of working with the club historic debt, instead blowing all the money the club had amassed through GT's excellent transfer dealings (Marc Pugh being a shining example) as well as offering Simon Davey an open cheque book to go out an sign duff players on high wages and long contracts. The majority of creditors were repaid at least in part I believe - they were required to do so to continue trading. The club was being run on a shoestring with a revolving door of kids on the playing staff. Luckily the crooks ran out of time and the plug was pulled on the freak show that HUFC had become. I have no love for Hereford fans but even I was angry about the way that they were being treated by a group of chancers. As for the fans - the VAST majority stayed away in a very effective boycott (which is odd because most folk round here whilst stubborn aren't that prone to being that proactive) and the current tenants of Edgar St are running a very well run business in partnership with their Supporters Trust (A model I would love to see at Town).

The funny thing is that they've never actually made it past the fourth round despite being a 'famous' cup giantkiller! They will be presented with the league trophy tonight after their league cup semi final against Stourport, good luck to them as this is still only the first step on their long road back, but it's fair to say the new club have had an excellent first season, even if they have been playing 'pub teams'!

Good luck to them.
Only 4 more promotions and they'll be back in the football league.

Some very good comments on here ,a lot of you are very well informed about our situation .we do still attract a laddish element but they seem happy to sing and get p**sed ,always easy when regularly winning games even if it is like a pub league .l fully expect 2 more relatively quick promotions then a leveling off once we reach conf north

It's been a fantastic start. To be quite honest, the excitement, drama, has been on a par with anything I've seen over the last 45 years. Who'd have thought 2 years ago there would be 1200 fans on their way to Alvechutch on a Tuesday night for a crunch battle. The win at Salisbury in the vase was up there with any of our cup wins. And clinching the league at Coventry last Monday with 900 fans there was just as good as clinching promotion at Brentford a few years back. We aren't deluded or arrogant, just grateful. And if next year is half as good as this year, I'll love it just the same.

I gained a bit of a soft spot for Hereford after some of their support ripped up that 'clippy' seat cover thing one season.
Top work fellas.
