Feared the worst but we held on. Why do we make things so difficult for ourselves . Still , a great result , 3 points nearer safety . Well done Shrewsbury Town .

Crewe, Oldham and Fleetwood drew, Chesterfield and Colchester lost.
So not a bad weekend.

It's always a worry when you go 2 up so early, particularly with a dodgy defence like ours. Still we held on.
I mentioned last week that performance wise we're hitting form and that results will come.
Blackpool have hit a bit of form as well so this is an excellent result all things considered.
We can now sit back and await the Man Utd game with 4 point from 2 away games and relax a little.
I bet LVG is ting himself.

I mentioned last week that performance wise we're hitting form and that results will come. I couldn't make it today (and therefore spent the afternoon with my head in my hands watching Soccer Saturday) but, as you say, there has been a marked improvement in our performances over the last month or so, particularly going forward. It was only a matter of time until we scored a few few. If we can keep the current levels of performance up, we'll be just about ok.

Phew! Good spirits and pace up front and then dugged in.black is sharper and shows control on ball and less fouls conceded.
Look better going forwaRd and exciting to watch. Steady improvement all-round.
Two trips to Lancashire. 4 points.
Salop fans were brilliant.

We don't half make it difficult for ourselves! Great support, and MOM has to go to Black, awesome commitment start to finish.

Yep point at Fleetwood now looks much better when it's followed up with 3 more at Blackpool Great start to the game, which is something we haven't always done. Then a bit of grit and determination to hang on for the win. Can go into the United game a bit more confident of staying up now which will allow the fans and players chance to enjoy the FA Cup game

So is it Mellon in or Mellon out this week? I'm finding it hard to keep up.

I still think Mellon is the wrong man and will take us down, however pleased with the win today.

Enjoyable day! Seems like after much tinkering and chopping and changing, we've found a system and a team that work for us. I think all our fans knew we needed more pace in the team, I'm glad Mellon also saw that and addressed it, just need a home win to get that confidence back!

Definitely a game of two halves where we displayed a full set of creative and defensive skills which all bodes well for the remaining games and avoiding the drop. A truly all round solid team display and a well deserved three points.

And another pleasing note: I see our top scorer... one James Collins... notched another two today. The Cobblers must be playing to his strengths.

Nope, would definitely say strengths, we managed to get one of the countries most prolific scorers in Jamie Cureton into his biggest goal drought in his playing career...... STFC is a goalscorers graveyard.... sod me, even Holt could only manage 9 in the league from open play.

Strange comment as Collins has had two productive seasons with us both in league 2...

Early days, but I wouldn't say we're missing Collins much.

If we don't get the 3 points against Man U, I'm joining the Mellon out camp.

Just got in from a good night in Blackpool we defended well today Whitbread and Black stand out performers today. We win and still people go on about Collins. Stop it let's concentrate on our own players. Collins does well in a team that is near the top. But then finds it difficult in a team that struggles. Well done today lads. Brilliant weekend away.
