So much for the people that have argued that flares are fun and quite safe and that we in Britain overreact to them.

I have never seen anyone argue in favour of the latter. The former is perfectly safe and used 10-a-penny on the continent. Go and read a book mate.

So much for the people that have argued that flares are fun and quite safe and that we in Britain overreact to them. I guess it's inevitable that people will see it that way. And fair enough I guess. But... We can drink beer on the terracing here in Germany. A fair few seasons ago a chap from the home section of the Waldau threw a plastic cup full of beer at the lino and hit him on the back of the head. The lino were hurt enough that he couldn't continue and the game had to be abandoned. Yet there was no talk whatsoever of banning beer on the terracing. You can still do so today. I think most people would agree that no such measure needed to be taken just because one dickhead threw his beer at the linesman. You see what I'm getting at? I suspect there have been more coins thrown onto the pitch and at players than flares but I doubt anyone would suggest everyone should have their pockets emptied of their loose change each time they enter a stadium. Perhaps some people would then say there is a big difference between being hit with a flare or a cup of beer or a coin. I'd question that to be honest. Plenty of things in the wrong hands that can cause harm. Thats me point.

Clever boy knowing there is a difference between a smoke bomb and a flare, perhaps you have never looked in the correct place to have seen anyone argue that flares are safe. Thanks for permission to read a book, perhaps you will look at your picture book at the same time. Your pomposity has not lessened during the very welcome time you have used the board less than you did previously.
