Speaking to mate of mine over this way on Saturday, he's a Posh fan. Talking to him just reminded me of what we're going up against when we make the step up. When you look to the money that Posh are now dealing in when it comes to selling and buying of players compared to ourselves. Speaking about Barnett and they signed him for over a million and they're happy to be rid of him for 100 grand (if that was indeed the amount we paid). Now I think that's a huge amount for Town, we don't normally pay that sort of money. Posh sold some chap to Forest recently for what they reckon to be in the region of 5 million. And that's Posh, a club I think we'd all agree we're more than on a par with when it comes to support etc. Our wage bill must be a million miles from theirs.

In my opinion Darren Ferguson is extremely overrated. Three promotions and a JPT win suggests otherwise. Nobody succeeds all the time.

All true but no different from the previous two seasons. It's encouraging to see similar-sized, and smaller, clubs competing well enough in L1 - Oldham, Chesterfield, Gillingham, Vale, Rochdale, Walsall, Sc***horpe. But the bigger spending clubs are at the top again, not surprisingly. Need to keep things in perspective if we go up - it'll be tough.

Yep and maybe a factor that many of those sides have had brief stays in L1 a few years ago only to fall back almost immediately back to L2 before getting promoted again. IMO this shows the jump up in standard but also shows that 2nd time around, clubs are more aware of what's required.
