Not missed a game home or away for 2 years, not missed a home game since 2009 when I was near enough a goner having a close call with Meningitis which caused TIA micro stroke just after Ben Davies had equalised when we played Grimsby. Before the game was finished I was in Hospital. Fair play mate, glad to know you made it through okay.

I loved the old ground , simple charm about the place but let's be honest . It was s**** . The toilets , the parking , the buffet bar were all s**** and the playing surface wasn't the best . The Tech end was uncovered and I well remember watching Town v Cardiff smoking wet . I liked standing on the Riverside but , in truth , the view wasn't the best So, even though I loved going , particularly on aTuesday night with my mates it was the team that really mattered . We got relegated when playing at the old ground to the bloody Conference . Seems to me that a few have got the " it was far better in the old days " syndrome . What utter ballocks .Reading some of the comments stuffing kids up chimneys would be looked upon with a tear in the eye and a sigh for the return of the good old days. Jesus! Agreed the "match day experience " at the new ground could be better but all in all things are much, much better. The main point is our team is playing some of the best football we have witnessed for many a long season. They are on the verge of promotion playing great football with a "squad" to be proud of , not to mention a great Manager and Chief Exec . The infamous match day experience is , to my mind , added value. I am more concerned with our performance on the pitch and rarely , when leaving the ground have I heard anyone comment along the lines of , " we played great but the parking, pies etc were s**** . In fact never! The performance is everything to me and that is what I go to see , our team playing great football . Isn't that encouragement itself. So, to all those who moan like f.ck about the match day experience for Christ sake get a bloody grip . Get your priorities sorted . I really feel like telling people who moan and bloody moan, blah , blah de bloody blah to f.ck off down the road and watch Tinpot United and see how that match day experience grabs ya. Sorry , rant over . [/quote You people that sit on the fence **** me off!

Been to Tranmere and Wycombe at home and Hartlepool, Southend, Cambridge and Stevenage away.
One win, two nil nil draws and three defeats not the best record but I do live 191 miles from Shrewsbury and been unfortunate.
Will be back for York at home and that's me for this season although have wife and kids on standby if there are any key fixtures for clinching promotion / title etc. Anything between 5 and 10 games a season has been me since I left Shrewsbury in September 2000.

Now, I'm not a regular poster but have attended more games this season than the last two together. The whole experience attending is not brilliant but if you are being entertained it is workable, but sorry guys I'm not dyed in the wool shrews, at any price. I'm Southport by birth, but moved here 30 years ago, It was Peters got me following town, having held season tickets for a few years, but not presently. I've met some great people at games, my lad does not want to go regularly but I've taken my daughter! her chap! my godson etc! tend to go to the Darwin for a drink, park and walk.
I fully expect to attend several games before the promotion party! . I will be there next Sat.
I also remember being shot down last July for posting a 'thank you mr Mellon' post. It was how I felt after seeing a couple of pre season games and to me the quality and commitment was clear to see, maybe I was not so wrong after all.
Fans have other things to consider and decide what they spend their time and money on, it is not for others to judge.
For those travelling tomorrow have a great time, I will be there in spirit, on the radio!

Geography means I only make one or two home games a season. I'll get to anything I can do in a day, which means any NW/NE matches with the odd foray into the Midlands/Staffs when needs must!
Guys like me are not the missing in question. Not sure if this thread will get to the root of why we are missing a chunk of our former support. Given that the product on the pitch is delivering in spades, I fear we may not be able to lure the 'missing' back.

Problem is Mark, we had 2 seasons that were long and arduous..... this season, even when we have played badly, which is more often than people would like to admit, we have been very fortunate in many of our games this term, but the difference is fighting spirit, many times last 2 seasons we looked beat before Dave Clark rang out the tones of catch us as quick as you can..... and then overtake....
That thought is in my humble opinion the reason for disaffection, all this bollox about customer experience is pure crap, as we are far better off as a club. Yes the concourses are a bit drab and cramped, but I remember the concourse on the riverside.... and the covered sheltered areas, and the smell and river of p**s...... all with affection.... root cause was in an entertainment industry, we really were not well entertained, very simple.

I blame you entirely Mark. Shame on you.

Have attended 2 home vs 6 away this season. Life choices/other commitments and location (about to become even more of a driving factor!) mean I only make about 10 games a season these days compared to going home and away to most when I was younger.
I prefer away games as I feel there is a much higher percentage of Salop fans at those games willing to get behind the team & encourage a win - the atmosphere is better and people just seem up for a laugh rather than a whinge at the meadow.
Given my location a trip to shrews is like an away game anyway so I feel I can make a direct comparison to other away games.

I went to three home games at the start of this season plus a couple away. My reason for not renewing my season ticket was mainly down to last season and work partly. Although I have purchased tickets for the next two home games

I've been to 3 home games and 2 aways , will get to a couple more aways and probably 2/3 homes. Location and work are main factors.

Hadn't missed a home game this season, friendlies included, till Wimbledon last week when I was away at a wedding. Just Burton away so far though.
Can I add that I hate the phrase "match day experience"? It's just so corporate-speak, customer-relationsy. It's not a reflection of the MDE argument itself, I just wish we had a better phrase for it!

AJ coming up in april for Exeter game. will be investing in club hospitality. attending games may not always be possible but I have spent £150 in both club shops. there are may ways of supporting the club, even from a distance
