Apparently we are interested in taking this guy on loan, doesn't say how serious our interest is but it would be interesting where Mellon would be thinking of playing him if we did take him on loan. link

Good spot that...
Seems like we face some tough competition.
I think though at this stage of the season if we are to make any further signings we need to look for experience over youth.

Interesting one. Just started reading The Nowhere Men by Michael Calvin and it mentions him, who Liverpool payed £1.5m as a 15 year old and he's clearly very rated by them. Pretty bloody young though

All I know is that he turns into a monster on Football Manager, according to which he is quick.

I see a trialist is playing for the reserves.
Would be a great signing, could go RWB\RM in my eyes, look at Man U who play wingers such as Young and Valencia in those positions.
Great to see we are trying to forge a relationship with Liverpool who have a habit of developing some very good players.

I'd imagine Ian Dawes is having an impact with the Liverpool link.

Derby County interested in him apparently too.
Would be a brilliant signing if we can pull it's off

Ongoing joke for months. would be a good signing but he's 17 and nobody really knows how good he is yet, league two could hit him hard.

You mean by " league two could hit him hard " some hairy arsed league two grizzled defender is just waiting to kick seven bags of s**t out of him . As opposed to some other t**t from a higher league who is also likely to do the same but in a more cultured manner ? I think you are spot on but we can only wait and see . I would prefer we take on some experienced player who knows what it takes to play in the lower reaches of the Football League . My blood runs cold to think how the likes of Stevenage would welcome him into the bear pit that is League Two football .

In that article his manager says he had a quieter game against McNair as the opponent was physically stronger and, at 22, much more experienced. Now I've seen Paddy McNair play for United this season & I wouldn't put him in the same category as Darren Jones or Steve McNulty. Could be a culture shock!

Yeah there was a thread where Shrews Fan had a big rant about him/her not being the same person as Czarcasm. The board was pretty split between those that believed him/her and those that did not...

It was discussed at the Supporter Pariliment meeting that the club has a developing and good relationship with Liverpool, think it was to do with Mike Jackson getting on with the youth coaches at Liverpool. So should be a good avenue for talented youngsters.
The club have got some good in with a few higher profile clubs now, and its about building the trust with them and showing them this is a good place to come get a football education as we "play it the right way"
Interesting to see the quality of player we get in on loan in the next couple of years.

Grimmer coming to us from Fulham hasn't done any harm to his career development (and Fulham are reaping the benefits as he's a first team regular now). Also, having a 'known' player in the form of Kawrence and his experience at Prem level will surely help in attracting highly-rated Orem youth & reserves in on loan?

Yes, you would hope so. The days of Rogers , Eaves et al are long gone . I would expect us to attract some decent players particularly because of our style of play and not least because the whole set up of the club has changed enormously since MM has come in . The bar, as they say , has been set high and I would have thought that higher league clubs are more than happy to send us their promising young players knowing that they will be well looked after and gain valuable experience . The fact that Goldson and Grant , as examples, are happy to throw in their lot with us speaks volumes . Hopefully we will gain promotion this season and go into League 1 in a far better position than before . I would also hope that a few more will come to watch us too.

One for Mike.... to be honest im not sure how feedback is being given from this meeting, there were actually very few questions submitted....
Mike can you respond on the points that were raised.
In general it was more of a post loggerheads SP sorting out what the next steps are for us and how we can support the CST.
quite a bit of time was also spent with Matt W being very open with the SP about some finance and club issues that were clearly not for wider consumption.

Whilst I can understand sensitive topics not being shared surely by definition its a FANS PARLIAMENT with our representatives reporting back whats gone on... i think its a mistake if topics discussed with the club are then not reported back fully... It will become a selective club of those in the know getting the ear of the Chief Executive for the clubs benefit NOT THE FANS..... If its an open meeting with anyone invited to attend how can 'topics not for wider consumption' be high on the agenda?

waiting for club to okay.... not a huge amount to report to be honest, just the questions sent in for Matt. Im talking to Jamie Edwards at the CST to try and get something together for the concourses but will report anything worth reporting when i get it.
With regards open discussions and what can and cant be reported. Every SP, fans forum, fans meeting etc etc etc i have ever been to has had something discussed which the club has asked not for it to go public, That's not because they don't want the fans to know, its because there are contractual details highlighted which cant be put out for various reasons. The club and SP are now in a situation where almost anything can be discussed and we will get an answer, on the understanding that its kept in the room. Thats not because we are the chosen few!! its because the club trust what is said isnt going to appear on here or in the star for all to see. If you want everything to be reported openly on here then expect the club to refuse to comment on a lot of things.......
i personally would rather be in the situation where a group of fans know the situation and if needed can discuss any issues directly with the club to resolve than being in a position where we don't know whats going on and thus having no input. if your concerned about anything let me know or try an attend a meeting.
