Shop workers I mean, having to listen to that awful Christmas 'music' for weeks on end. Just a few minutes in a store drains me of the will to live.
The worst is the one that goes, "las chrismus I gev you my har..."

I've been listening to it solidly for two months now. The same dozen or so tracks over and over and over again. It's not fun.

Agree, most of it is pure s**te. I hate the "charity" programmes fronted by the very rich pleading with us to "give" while they get paid loads , and get free publicity for their careers. I know these programmes succeed in making money for these causes, but it seems so false to me.

It is around this time of year I thank the productiveness of Soviet industry in World War 2. Over two years, the unit production cost of the Soviet T-34 tank was reduced from 269,500 roubles in 1941, to 193,000, and then to 135,000. Production time was cut in half by the end of 1942, even though most experienced factory workers had been sent to the battlefield and were replaced by a mixed workforce that included 50% women, 15% boys, and 15% invalids and old men. In 1943 production averaged 1,300 tanks per month.
Thanks to these efforts we only have a German market in Birmingham for a few weeks a year.

I agree with the Shropshire Tenor. It is sickly banal pap which is more likely to deter shoppers than make the visit pleasant. What's the point?

Your just a bunch of joyless kill joys aren't you, wanting to ban fun, joy and Christmas tunes, and desperate for the normality of January 2nd to arrive
Its threads like this that make me realise I'm with like minded folk on B&A
