Remember being one of about 37 at Darlo at Feethams in March 1998 out of a total cro of 1791. RichardScott put us 1-0 up only to lose 3-1 on a freezing night (If memorybserves me correctly the game had previously been twice post-poned but I might be imagining). My memory also tells me if was Kerrigan's debut but that might be wrong too!! That could have been a couple of games: There was an LDV Vans trophy game in 2001 (I think) that Shrews lost 2-0. The attendance can't have been more than 1,000 and I remember standing in the away terrace (it was unusually on the side of the pitch). When the players were warming up, Mickey Brown ran over, saw a group of us (we'd left sixth form early that day, to make the trip instead of a typical afternoon game of pool at Mr Nudge) on the terrace and shouted "what on earth are you nutters doing here?" Then there was the infamous 2-2 draw in the league, another Tuesday night - would have been a couple of years earlier than the LDV game. We were 2-0 up and conceded twice in injury time. Can't have been more than 50 Salop fans there that night - this time housed in the wooden seating area above the terrace. We were doing well until John Gayle scored to put us 2-0 up, ironically it was the worse thing that could have happened as Darlo pulled one back instantly from kick-off and then had the upper hand after we'd looked so comfortable at 1-0. The second one sounds familiar, did David Hughes score one of our goals with a diving header? Think Darlo were top of table at the time and we were fighting relegation. there have been plenty of low points in the life of an STFC fan but driving back from the northeast after conceding those 2 late goals was right up there.

Yeah those late two goals were real sickeners. The second led to a Darlo pitch invasion at the end the goal was scored with a couple of Darlo fans getting in the face of Dave Hughes and Paul Edwards - bit mistake as those fans walked off with clipped ears if I remember rightly.

Remember going to Maine Road and we less than 500 on all three occasions in the league.
Remember going to Villa in 1988 and taking 3000.
The thing I've found fascinating this season is 600 plus we to York.

The Villa match was the one the EBF caused a lot of trouble at wasn't it, im sure some poor Birmingham pub landlord had a beer glass pushed in his face, I remember the Police pulling people out from the away terrace all through the game is relation to this incident.

Let's hope the improved away form continues
