Fair play to him, but that's bad news for us.
Expect someone else by the end of the week as he clearly does not rate Gayle as a wing back.

Was always likely to happen the minute they cup tied him.

Bummer.
Thought he made that RWB position his own. Time for Gayle to step up to the plate now.

that's bad news but I believe Mellon can find a suitable replacement.

After his performances for us, Fulham would obviously want him back, and you can't blame them, he's their player after all.
Many thanks for you've done for us, Jack. If you get splinters in your bum from sitting on the bench, I expect I speak for most of us in saying you'd be welcome back.
I'll bet you 40 million Granny Gwilliam, (and you can't go any higher than that, , MM has a card up his sleeve for a replacement.

We could do worse than Grando covering it off for a few matches with Ellis in at CB to keep the shape. In fact I have missed Grandos roaming runs this season and would like to see it! If we get through a month he could look at permanent signings.

I think we will miss him.
Very good player, fitted into that RWB position with ease.
Give Gayle til the start of the transfer window, then find a replacement?

I just hope this isn't the end of a formation that has worked very well for us. 442 doesn't suit the players we have.

Not sure if this has been mentioned by anyone else but did anyone hear Stuart Dunn at the weekend saying that Gary Peters was Grimmer's mentor and he reckoned he was not far off breaking into the Fulham team. A disappointment rather than a disaster IMO but I am not sure Gayle is the long term answer tbh.

Sad to see him go but always one of the troubles with the loan market that if a player plays well he can attract interest from other clubs or be recalled by parent club
With the new management at Fulham and Grimmers form for us can see him getting some first team games for them over the busy Christmas period

We'll miss Grimmer's pace & attacking instincts on the right. Maybe we can get him back later in the season.
Two of our best performances (Leicester & Luton) came with Gayle at right back. Don't see why he shouldn't slot back into a 3-5-2. Deserves the chance and I'd rather that than Ellis in the centre and Grandison out wide - and definitely prefer to see that than go back to 4-4-2.

Darn we will definitely miss this young fella...still at his best Cameron Gayle is a good lad and of course I am sure Micky Mellon has other thoughts on competition for this position

Not too worried with Gayle at RB although he's probably behind Grandison in the pecking order at the moment, judging by the Walsall replay team. But at right wing back he hasn't shown too much in the way of attacking threat to date and I am not sure he will develop those threats.

But he was doing a decent job and we looked a very capable team when he played there.

It's probably not the right time to say but I thought I saw Demetriou limping at my local garage yesterday... just a bit of post match stiffness I'm sure

When does the loan window shut? May have to revert to a 4-4-2 out of neccessity with the lack of quality cover at wingback now.

Absolute pleasure to watch him in a Town shirt.
In the same way as I always take a little bit of pride seeing Gylfi Sigurdsson doing something special in the Premier League I am sure I will be feeling the same about Grimmer sometime soon. Absolute quality

What a change from all the loan players we had over the last 2 years - one that is good enough to be recalled by his parent club because he was actually good enough.

I'm gutted and hope this does not have a big negative impact on our season. One of the best loan signings we have had in the last few years without a doubt.
Of course we knew it was going to happen sooner or later but the recall has come at a poor time really, we could have done with him on Saturday and it would have been nice to have retained his services over the busy Christmas/New Year period.
I know he's only been performing well at L2 level but I fully expect to see him doing his stuff at a much higher level in the future.

This could prove interesting for the team MM puts out on Saturday. I guess he didn't have much warning that Fulham were going to recall him, although there is always that chance, especially when he is playing well.
Do we change our shape or does he give Gayle another chance?
It was a big game against Burton either way, so I wouldn't expect too much disruption to the team, and Gayle to be a straight swap.
